Pure comfort - why not just put your feet up for a change

In the cold season, we like to make ourselves comfortable at home. All we would like to do now is lie on the sofa, put our feet up and immerse ourselves in an interesting book. Even small changes are enough to create a cozy atmosphere in the home.

The oasis of calm in the home ensures relaxation

Winter days are difficult for many people. It’s still dark on the way to the office and when you go home at dusk, you can feel the unpleasant cold up close. Once at home, we can create a more pleasant atmosphere by scattering candles or tea lights around the room to bathe the living area in a romantic light. The soft crackling fire in the fireplace also conveys a feeling of security. To keep it warm and cozy, we simply turn a snug corner in the home into an oasis of calm or a reading corner. All you need is a comfortable armchair, a side table and a sofa. Since every home has nooks and crannies, a corner sofa is ideal. Corner models such as a corner sofa from Maisons du Monde can be placed in the middle of the living room or against the wall. In addition, the corner sofa is a practical reserve for sleeping in case surprise guests turn up. A corner sofa with a sleeping function allows you to make optimum use of a free corner in the room. As it fills every nook and cranny, a corner sofa is an ideal solution, especially for a small room or in an apartment with limited space. In larger rooms, corner sofas are often used as room dividers, as the upholstered corner creates a separate area.

Creating a cozy atmosphere

An L-shaped sofa offers seating and reclining space in one, so that we can lean back, relax and sink into the cozy cushions. After a stressful day at work, we simply make ourselves comfortable on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a hot chocolate. However, incorrectly arranged pieces of furniture, cluttered bookshelves or missing pictures on the walls can have an unfavorable effect on living comfort. These small set-up errors can be rectified quickly. A corner sofa even fits under the sloping roof. However, the free area should first be measured so that the corner model actually fits in and there is enough space between it and the other furniture. To ensure that the corner sofa harmonizes with our existing furnishings, it is important to pay attention to the color tone. Especially in a small room, bright colors can quickly become overwhelming. Subtle shades such as gray, brown, beige or black are better. So that the living area does not look boring, the sofa can be covered with colorful decorative cushions or a plaid. If we feel like a change, we simply swap the cushions and create a completely different ambience. In order to bring harmony into a room, the laws of symmetry should already be observed when planning the furnishings. This also applies to hanging pictures and placing decorative objects. When we’ve finished decorating, we put a few fresh flowers in the vase and a few cookies in the cookie tin. Now nothing stands in the way of a relaxed evening!
