The Hype: Living & Design trends of the month

Collaborations between fashion and design houses work brilliantly, bright colors flood us with dopamine and a trip to the far north to a top-class cottage is a must: Here are our Living & Design trends of the month.

We Love

Playground

Opposites attract. In the case of Vetsak and Aspesi, they create a sofa that is at the top of our wish list. For once, Vetsak has left the soft beige tones and corduroy fabric behind. The ultra-comfortable shape of the sofa has remained. Fashion house Aspesi supplies bright colors and upcycled nylon. The result: a two-seater that you hardly want to get up from once you’ve sat down. A wilder version of the collaboration was unveiled for the first time at last year’s Milan Furniture Fair. The slightly less colorful, green sofa is now finally available for your own living room. In addition to the sofa, there are also blankets and the cutest piece of the whole collaboration: a cushion in the shape of a colorful teddy bear.

It is written in the stars, the planets have predicted it: in 1966, when Gino Sarfatti designed his iconic “Model 600” table lamp, the equally iconic fashion house Bottega Veneta was founded. The best of both worlds now come together in the new edition of the lamp. Colors and leather with signature pattern come from Bottega Veneta, form and function originate from model 600. The piece can be used as a table or floor lamp. One thing it always is: an eye-catcher and the coolest object in any living room.

Place

Escape

Anyone who builds a designer hideaway in the Swedish wilderness should not be surprised that people from all corners of the globe want to book an overnight stay. The only problem is that the Danish design company’s first Vipp Shelter was not intended as a mini-hotel, but as a prototype and showroom to persuade potential customers to buy just such a cabin. However, the response was so great that there are now actually seven bookable Vipp guesthouses in Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Andorra, with more in the pipeline.

Splash of color

News-Talgic

For multidisciplinary designer Tekla Evelina Severin, known as Teklan, color is at the heart of every idea. Her textiles for Radici are accompanied by an explosion of patterns. If you are nostalgic for the sixties and want a modern home at the same time, a rug from the Newstalgia collection is the perfect choice. Particularly courageous dopamine hunters place colorful furniture on the colorful floor.

Darling

Light on

What’s the difference between a beautiful interior and one that blows you away? That’s right, in the details. When it comes to interior design, these can be quite insidious. Sockets, for example, are indispensable, but have seldom triggered aesthetically motivated storms of enthusiasm. Design studio Besau-Marguerre, known for its colorful product designs, transforms the most ordinary socket into a mini work of art for electrical company Hager. The “Two Tone Manufaktur Edition” adds the finishing touch to any room with its bright contrasts.
