What does the future of footwear look like? The collaboration between Diesel and footwear brand Melissa provides the answer. Three pairs of innovative shoes prove that everything can be reinvented again and again – including sneakers and flip-flops. For anyone who wants to be more daring in terms of fashion, a Diesel x Melissa shoe is not a bad place to start.

Have you ever heard of man-repeller outfits? No? Then perhaps you haven’t slipped so deeply into the scrolling maelstrom yet – better that way! The concept is the subject of lively debate among fashion lovers. It refers to outfits that are loved by fashionistas and are totally geared towards the male gaze – and therefore perhaps have a rather repulsive effect on men. Ugly shoes fall into a similar category. The one or other trend shoe tends to divide opinion. Like the iconic Tabis, which were made suitable for the masses by Margiela. You either love or hate the hoof-shaped shoes, there is hardly anything in between. There is also a debate about whether toe shoes are the next it-piece or whether they are rather hideous. And what does all this have to do with the Diesel and Melissa collaboration? Well, with their capsule collection, the two brands are also daring to design models that cause a stir.

Three times futuristic footwear
Three pairs of shoes will make the hearts of all fans of eye-catching kicks beat faster: the Quantum Thong in flip-flop style is available in light pink, transparent blue and red and in black. The Quantum Platform is a platform sandal and is available in light blue, transparent red and blue and in black. The collaboration even gave rise to a kind of sneaker of the future: the Quantum Sneaker X is a closed unisex shoe that is available in transparent green and red or in black. Inclusivity was also a priority for the collection, which is why each of the models is available in an extended size range. So everyone can stomp towards a colorful and creative future.
