The Faces in April 2026

We suddenly have a burning interest in ice hockey – or at least in the actor who looks so good on the ice -, we also like soccer, have added a book about poverty to our reading list and have a new favorite catwalk model: here are our heroes and heroines for April.

Bhavitha Mandava

UNDERGROUND HIGH FLYER

Bhavitha Mandava had to go downstairs for her career. And by that we mean the New York subway. It was there that the former architecture student was discovered as a model. Shortly afterwards, she opened the catwalk of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2026 show in a Manhattan subway station – as the first Indian woman in the history of the Maison. Now Creative Director Matthieu Blazy has chosen Bhavitha as the official brand ambassador. This underlines the new era at Chanel: younger, more global and sometimes with stories straight out of a fairytale book.

Makes a good impression in any mood.

Maxime Frédéric

CHOC AND AWE

Such a sweet guy. Not because of the French accent. Maxime Frédéric is the best pastry chef in the world. Gault Millau, La Liste and 50 Best have awarded him this accolade. Even Louis Vuitton forgets the catwalk and turns into a sweet tooth. The Maître Pâtissier regularly creates melt-in-the-mouth works of art for the fashion house. For Easter, Maxime outdid himself and recreated the Egg Bag from the spring/summer 2019 collection in chocolate. A surprise egg for anyone who wants prestige instead of plastic toys.

Olivia Dean

AGENT 00 HEAVEN

If you’re lying in bed with a 40° heartache, we’d like to add the following to your prescription list: “The Art of Loving” by Olivia Dean. Play her music twice a day until you feel better. The side effects are a tender tingling of the heart and the desire to embrace the world. With her second longplayer, the Englishwoman won the Brit Awards and Grammys and is considered the biggest pop talent on the island. Now the singer and fashion muse is being touted as a favorite for the next Bond song. Don’t be surprised if no one shoots in the movie and everyone cuddles.

Doesn’t just bring spring fever to lovers.

Moise Kouame

BALL BOY MY ASS

In about three to four years, we will sit back and say: Et voilà! Because when we look into our crystal tennis ball, a name for the future shines out: Moise Kouame. The 17-year-old Frenchman may not yet have a driver’s license, but he has long been in the fast lane of international tennis. Moise started the year by winning his first professional title at the M25 Hazebrouck. Now it’s off to the really big courts, where his aggressive and spectacular style of play is guaranteed to get his opponents’ hands wet.

Has a steep road to success ahead of him.

Julia Garner

THE GREAT PRETENDER

She has a thing for con artists. Julia Garner made her breakthrough in the true crime series “Inventing Anna” as Anna Sorokin, who built her empire on a mountain of overdrawn credit cards. The American will soon be playing the ex-girlfriend of crypto-scammer Sam Bankman-Fried in “The Altruists”. But unlike her portrayed characters, Julia has real talent behind her facade. She won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for her role in “Ozark”. Loewe also said “Oha” and appointed Julia as the new Global Ambassador.

Hudson Williams

TO MELT AWAY

Since when have we been interested in ice hockey? Since the body checks don’t take place on the field, but in… the cottage. No series has made as many people sweat as “Heated Rivalry” in recent years. The story of two competing field hockey players who have a secret love affair has long been a hit with more than just a queer audience. Co-star Hudson Williams also hits the puck in the net as a fashion model for Balenciaga and DSquared2. And yes, the second season of our Ice, Ice, Babies has been announced for next spring.

Trinity Rodman

THE RULE BREAKER

Sometimes the apple falls far from the tree. Or: the ball rolls onto another court. Trinity Rodman has a difficult relationship with her father, basketball legend Dennis. This is precisely why she is all the more determined to go her own way. As of this year, the exceptional talent is the best-paid female soccer player in the world with a three-year contract with the Washington Spirit for six million dollars. A salary so gigantic that the National Women’s Soccer League had to adjust the compensation rules with the “Rodman Rule”. The rule is: you can always get more.

Balen Shah

YUNG MINISTER

He can rhyme. Can he also govern? During Nepal’s youth protests, Balen Shah was a beacon of hope. Now the former rapper is expected to become the new prime minister after an overwhelming election victory. The 35-year-old is rarely seen without sunglasses. For a dazzling future, he promises the people a generational change, corruption and stagnation are to jump over the cliff. As mayor of Kathmandu, Balen can already point to successes. We wish the country on Mount Everest a steep ascent.

Miriam Davoudvandi

BALM FOR BEING BROKE

In Miriam Davoudvandi’s podcast studio, rappers pour their hearts out like vodka in the lounge. The “Danke, gut” format reveals celebrity conversations that don’t scratch the surface, but drill down to the heart of the matter. The music journalist has now published her first book “Das können wir uns nicht leisten”. Hopefully you won’t be thinking this sentence on your next shopping trip for reading material. Because the way Miriam describes her upbringing in precarious circumstances gets under your skin – like everything she does.

Money negates the world. But Miriam gives hope.

Luca Ferrari

APP NOW EVERYTHING IS GETTING BETTER

When a tear used to disfigure our favorite jeans, a parent would iron a patch on them and all was right with the world again. Often, our favorite jeans looked even better afterwards. Luca Ferrari irons mending fabric onto apps. Instead of constantly launching new applications, his tech company Bending Spoons takes over and improves existing applications and software. Audience favorites such as Vimeo, Splice and WeTransfer have thus been refreshed for hundreds of millions of users – and Luca has become one of Europe’s most successful entrepreneurs.

Ensures that apps don’t kick the bucket.

Torishéju Dumi

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If your fashion designs hang in closets, you are successful. If your fashion designs hang in museums, you have authority. Torishéju Dumi’s creations can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as in the wardrobes of Naomi Campbell and Zendaya. The British designer creates wearable works of art that are sensual, avant-garde and influenced by her Nigerian heritage. In the new collection, Dumi cuts silhouettes so sharp you could cut your fingers. And that’s exactly why we want to get our hands on them.

Her fashion is prêt à musée.
