What do Wes Anderson and NASA have to do with jewelry and watches? Find out in our jewelry and watch trends of the month.
Darling
Hippies Forever
Fancy a trip back in time? Then buckle up – it’s back to 1968: a time of change, protests and the birth of Serpent Bohème. The iconic piece of jewelry with drop and snake shapes quickly became a classic. In 1974, the lush floral version followed as a statement necklace – a perfect match for the hippie era. In 2025, the collection returned as Serpent Bohème Vintage – with a modern interpretation of a giant flower and matching bangles, rings and earrings. Nostalgic, playful, a little rebellious – just the thing for a year that calls for lightness.

Anniversary
Ground Control to Omega
60 years ago, the Omega Speedmaster was declared “fit for flight on all manned space missions” by NASA. This was not only a great honor, but also extended the watch manufacturer’s scope into space. Omega was allowed to accompany all moon landings in history and many of the greatest missions of our time. In order to receive such certification, all watches that wanted to go into space had to pass eleven tests. The Omega Speedmaster ST 105.003 passed all of them flawlessly – and was the first watch to make it to the moon. Even though it already met all the criteria back then, the Speedmaster is still being further developed today and equipped with the very latest technical advances. Because who knows, maybe it will soon land on the next planet.

Power Grab
“What does strength mean?” asks Tiffany & Co. to the illustrious group of ambassadors. “When I question my own strength, I think of things that seem fragile but aren’t,” answers Oscar winner Mikey Madison in the campaign video for the HardWear collection. What can be understood metaphorically also applies to the pieces of jewelry that sparkle on Mikey’s all-black outfit. They are just as delicate and indestructible as the actress herself.

New Collection
Sapphire
We always thought that you first develop the movement and then screw it into a beautiful case. At Richard Mille, however, things are a little different. For the new sapphire collection, it was clear that the cases would be made of sapphire, as the name suggests. The movement was developed especially for these cases. Sapphire is almost as hard as diamond, which means that it is extremely scratch-resistant, but only allows tolerances in the micrometer range with regard to the perfect fit of the individual components. In plain language, this means that manufacturing a three-part case from a block weighing several dozen kilograms requires more than 1,000 hours of work, 40 days of which are dedicated to continuous grinding and a third of the time to polishing. Now we also understand why there are only 35 pieces of the RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire in total: 15 of the model in clear sapphire and 10 each in transparent and colored sapphire.

Custom-made
Deluxe rosary
Some are eagerly awaiting the so-called Hot Girl Summer, we are celebrating the Wes Anderson Summer. Because when a new film by the master of color palettes and symmetries is in the starting blocks, we know: It’s going to be a good summer. Cartier is also having a great time thanks to the director. Mr. Anderson himself knocked on the door of the Haute Joaillerie and ordered a custom-made piece for his latest work, The Phoenician Scheme. A cross pendant from around 1880 by Cartier appealed to him. His character Liesl, played by Mia Threapleton, now holds a similar, rosary-like piece in her hands. Only those who swap the beach for the movie theater will find out why and what she intends to do with it.
