Fashion trends of the month

Here you’ll find all the news from the world of fashion, the best fashion trends, the hottest pieces and everything straight from the catwalk.

New Face

Shiny

While her beau dribbles on the pitch, Georgina Rodríguez works on her own empire. Her own fashion brand and the Netflix show have now been followed by a deal with Guess, for whose campaign the 29-year-old stretches her face into the camera. The idea: to capture the glamor of times gone by. The photo shoot took place at the Santo Mauro Hotel in Madrid and was shot by Italian Nima Benati, whose skills landed her on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list. And Guess dad Paul Marciano? As always, of course, he wielded the baton.

Unfuck the World

Heat Wave

Down with CO2 and up with the awareness that fashion is not a disposable commodity. Armedangels is one of the labels that have made it their mission to do good with their collections. The jeans in her DetoxDenim line produce just half the amount of carbon as conventional denim items. However, Armedangels’ fall collection not only celebrates the use of recycled and organic materials, but also sends out an appeal to dress warmly instead of turning up the heating at home and thus unnecessarily consuming oil. Sounds easy – and it is, because the cool styles of the lined vests and coats make it difficult for us to choose just one item anyway.

We love

In-house

Some wear their down jackets zipped up to their chins, others stroll around in their silk dresses: Mid-season is difficult, neither fish nor fowl, not cold, but not warm either, and somehow we’re not even ready to let go of summer completely. The solution: something like the slippers from Louis Vuitton, which warm the toes and still allow air to reach the heel.

Darling

Advance withdrawal

Gone are the days when we squeezed everything and anything into our trouser pockets because our actual companions only had enough room for a credit card. The latter is now being used for the new “Toujours” bag from Dior, the name of which already gives you an idea: From now on, this piece hangs from our skirts like a whining toddler. The difference: at most, tears of joy flow. The clear silhouette and embossed leather make the “Toujours” a classic that the aforementioned three-cheese high is also looking forward to inheriting.

It-Piece

Business unusual

There is not just one. At least 30 shapes of tie knot can be tied from this piece of fabric, and we admit it: we barely manage one. This season, it’s worth getting your dexterity up to scratch, because there’s no getting around the tie. Valentino interprets the business piece as a sleek shirt dress, making it clear that nothing can be run-of-the-mill in this combination.

Collaboration

Goldfinger

Screw the Porsche, we’d rather have luxury for which we don’t need a parking space. All we need for the Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet is a free wrist – and the necessary change. Audemars Piguet’s collaboration with Matthew Williams, the heart and brain of 1017 ALYX 9SM, has finally given us the jolt we need to finally put the latter on the counter. Five new models of the Royal Oak and the Royal Oak Offshore have been added to our wish list. 18-carat yellow and white gold refine the timepieces, whose clear edges and minimalist design definitely justify their purchase.

New Collection

Last Days of Summer

While the fashion carousel is spinning faster and faster, there are labels that are pulling the emergency brake. Instead of trends, Susann Schweizer’s Poplin Project focuses on timeless collections that also support traditional textile craftsmanship in the Ivory Coast. The result is colorful printed shirts, pants and dresses that, once in the closet, immediately become favorites. For “Soul City”, Schweizer draws inspiration from this feeling of having found an anchor in the midst of our chaotic world. Nostalgia, hope and warmth flow into this collection, whose playfulness makes us smile even in the dreariest gray.
