“It feels like I could go outside with a bikini thong on right now.”

Unique
As if the well-known tarpaulin bags and rucksacks from Freitag weren’t individual enough, anyone can now try their hand as a designer. Thanks to F-Cut, it is now up to us to find the perfect cut from up to 50 digitized truck tarpaulins and to match the interior and exterior to our own taste. Once you have decided on a version, the good piece goes into production – and arrives at your doorstep by post four to six weeks later. F-Cut, “F712 Dragnet”, approx. 290, f-cut.ch

We should all consume less fish. For heaven’s sake! What is left over from fishing is reused in fashion: Mesh fabric is all the rage at the moment. Often colorful, coarse or fine-meshed and staged by more or less tanned limbs. If that’s too much bare skin for you, you can jump on the trend with the right accessories.

Paradiso
The paradise covers 746 square meters. At least that of fashion fans who will find their heaven on earth in the newly opened Gucci store in Zurich. On two floors, we can now find everything from the universe that Gucci god Alessandro Michele has up his sleeve: from clothing, jewelry, watches and bags to sunglasses and decorations for a chic home. Marble and bronze go hand in hand in the interior, and comfortable armchairs are waiting everywhere to welcome overwhelmed shoppers. Gucci Zurich, Bahnhofstrasse 39, 8002 Zurich, Switzerland, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., gucci.com
New Brand
Circle of Friends
We don’t really need to discuss the cool design of Viennese designer Julia Skergeth’s bags, as they speak for themselves. What needs to be communicated, however, are the many good aspects behind the Austrian brand, which employs mainly women throughout the entire production process. This is just one aspect of many, as Skergeth is also committed to full price and production transparency, which it discloses on its website. Right down to the last screw rivet, consumers know where the parts of their new favorite bag come from, and also that the calfskin used is produced chrome-free in Italy and Portugal. You can find out more at juliaskergeth.com, where the new bags in three summer colors are also in our shopping cart, available in three different sizes from approx. 270.
Unfuck the world
All clean
Livia Naef writes sustainability so large on her forehead that we could read her motto even without glasses. The Swiss designer deliberately produces her collections in small batches and entirely in Switzerland. For the pieces in her summer collection, Naef goes one step further and dyes her much-loved linen fabrics herself using food waste and plants. Avocado peels can actually be used before they end up on the compost heap for good. Naef, who learned her trade at the STF Swiss Textile College, uses these fabrics dyed in natural tones to create straight-lined dresses, tops and coats that are guaranteed to last a lifetime, not just a summer. livianaef.ch
It-Piece
Mallard
They squeak and moan as if we were being asked to play squash at 40 degrees. And yet our heart beats faster for these kicks than for strawberry ice cream with whipped cream. Perhaps because Balenciaga, Gucci, Givenchy and co. are currently presenting their colorful creations, which bring back memories of colorful sweets. Any arguments for plunking down three-figure sums for such plastic shoes? They survive even the muddiest festival and ensure that sensitive feet remain softly bedded on the beach. And yes, putting the kicks in a time capsule will probably still be a source of hearty laughter in a hundred years’ time. That’s something.
