On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week, the Afro Fashion Association invited to celebrate BIPOC talents in the fashion industry.
In Milan, the end of winter is heralded by a particularly large number of high heels breaking off on the cobbled streets. That’s when the stylish guests for Fashion Week stalk from fashion show to aperitif to fashion show to aperitif at breakneck speed. But there are also exciting things happening away from the catwalks. The Afro Fashion Association hosted the “Communities at Work” event at The Wilde. The topic was the challenges and successes faced by BIPOC talents (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) in the fashion industry. And even the busiest woman in town, Anna Wintour, was happy to make time for this.
Highlight: Drinks and words were followed by action with the launch of the Afro Fashion Associations Global Partner Program.
Conclusion: At Fashion Weeks, the industry not only makes trends, but also progress.
