“I don’t carry a wallet. I keep my cards in my pocket and cash in my boots.” Jackson Rathbone
Cuteness alert
We’ve had Vivetta’s blouses and dresses on our radar for a long time. With the new collection, however, we’re now also getting a real gasp when it comes to shoes. These sugar-sweet kicks (made of satin, approx. 530.-) are what we wear in our secret princess dreams – when we turn from woman to child for a night and don’t have to worry about the comfort of our shoes.
Head bang
Tough guys and tough girls? At least from the outside, as long as they dress in leather and rivets, refrain from smiling and let the motorcycle roar. Anyone riding a bike with rivets may miss the chance to position themselves as a rebel – but does it matter? After all, fashion is still all about contrasts. And if you use them cleverly, styling the hard bling with a frilled dress or a smart shirt, you’ve really understood the game. Valentino, “The Rockstud Spike”, leather clutch, approx. 2’115.-, Marciano by Guess, “Hendrix Studded Dress”, dress made of polyurethane, approx. 282.-, Isabel Marant, “Yoli”, leather belt, approx. 366.- (net-a-porter.com), Christian Louboutin, “Levita Rete 55”, leather and lace pumps, approx. 924.-
Summit assault
Mount Everest. Dream, adventure, death trap. Since Sir Edmund Hillary was the first to climb its summit in the 1950s, the almost 9,000-meter peak has become a tourist magnet. The Nepalese government issued almost 400 permits in 2019, with almost 1,000 people trudging up to the roof of the world with Sherpas in just a few days – and leaving a lot of garbage behind. The Swiss fashion label Bally has set itself the goal of ridding Mount Everest of waste. As part of the Peak Outlook Initiative, Bally cleans up the camps and packs up what euphoric climbers and overtired returnees carelessly leave behind. After all, Bally was virtually live at Sir Edmund Hillary’s feet when he conquered Everest. Honor bound, let’s say. To mark this initiative, Bally is launching a capsule collection, 100 percent of the proceeds of which will go to the project.
Oh la la
Old knickers and bras that somehow don’t fit properly? A horror! Shame on you! Finally, there’s the pretty underwear from Polish label Le Petit Trou, which uses French lace and Italian fabrics to create pieces that are actually far too good for underneath. The current collection features delicate styles with sparkling star and dot prints, ruffles, ribbons and just the right amount of transparency to make bustiers and briefs exciting. Of course, a few cut-outs here and there are a must – typical of Le Petit Trou. In addition to underwear, the label is also equipping us with matching mules and sandals this winter and complementing its pieces with dresses and skirts made of silk fabrics – so that we feel comfortable under and over them. The Le Petit Trou collections are available from approx. 65.- over www.le-petit-trou.com available.
The Gang
Three women, three looks. Apart from their commitment to the Messika jewelry label, Kate Moss, Sylvia Hoeks and Joan Smalls have one thing in common: their badass attitude. And this is exactly what goes so well with the sparkling bling-bling of the Parisian label, whose fall collection shows just how versatile the bracelets, rings and chokers made of white, rose and yellow gold are.
Stilts
We see it this way: the more leg, the more print we can show with it. However, this does not mean that everyone else has to do without exciting stockings and socks. As always, it’s all about the right combination. In other words: Darker colors conceal a little more, lighter colors accentuate. Overknees stretch the leg, socks up to the calf shorten it. What you derive from this information for yourself is up to you. However, we proclaim courage for fashion and fun with colorful printed and patterned stockings. After all, a wink in this sometimes so serious world has never hurt anyone. Gucci, socks made from a cotton blend, approx. 120.- (farfetch.com), N°21, socks made of polyamide, approx. 87.- (farfetch.com)
