Summit assault
Mount Everest. Dream, adventure, death trap. Since Sir Edmund Hillary was the first to climb its summit in the 1950s, the almost 9,000-meter peak has become a tourist magnet. The Nepalese government issued almost 400 permits in 2019, with almost 1,000 people trudging up to the roof of the world with Sherpas in just a few days – and leaving a lot of garbage behind. The Swiss fashion label Bally has set itself the goal of ridding Mount Everest of waste. As part of the Peak Outlook Initiative, Bally cleans up the camps and packs up what euphoric climbers and overtired returnees carelessly leave behind. After all, Bally was virtually live at Sir Edmund Hillary’s feet when he conquered Everest. Honor bound, let’s say. To mark this initiative, Bally is launching a capsule collection, 100 percent of the proceeds of which will go to the project.

Old knickers and bras that somehow don’t fit properly? A horror! Shame on you!
