Travel trends of the month

Would you prefer a private villa in Greece or just a leisurely hike in your home country? There’s something for every budget and every type of traveler in our Travel Trends – let the summer vacations begin!

Unfuck the World

Taking a Walk

So-called mental health walks are a common sight on social media – sometimes meant seriously, sometimes rather ironically, influencers go for a walk to do something for their mental wellbeing. Behind this trivial act is science, which confirms that putting one foot in front of the other is very good for the mind and soul. So instead of a long journey, you can also fill your vacation with hikes and walks. The footwear for this is provided by the collaboration between sustainable label Nanushka and sports brand Asics. Part of the profits go to the charity Mind Over Mountains, which combines support for mental health with walks in nature.

All-round sound reinforcement

At the campsite, on the beach or in your hotel room, there’s really nothing missing. Except for your favorite music. Portable speakers are the saviors in need. The ever-popular Beosound A1 from Bang & Olufsen has been given a makeover. It is available in honey gold and eucalyptus green and boasts two decibels louder bass than its predecessor. For those who want to brag about useless knowledge: the bead-blasted aluminum is equipped with exactly 2,173 precision-milled holes. The battery lasts for 24 hours – whether the campsite neighbors can stand that is another question.
Bang & Olufsen, “Beosound A1 3rd generation”, approx. 350.

Book

Delizie della Puglia

What does Puglia taste like? The easiest way to find out is to take a trip to the region. If you have other plans, you can also try it out in your own kitchen. All you need is the advice of Giorgia Eugenia Goggi, head chef at Bed & Breakfast Masseria Moroseta. She is so passionate about the culinary delights of the region that she has written down her cooking talent in a personal cookbook. In it, traditional ingredients meet contemporary ideas and lead to dishes such as tomato risotto with garlic and lemon, grilled asparagus with gremolata and tahini sauce or strawberry and beet sorbet. The whole thing is divided into seasons, because a trip to Puglia is worthwhile at any time. Giorgia Eugenia Goggi, “Moroseta. Modern country house cuisine from Puglia”, Ars Vivendi, approx. 36.

Places

Pure Privacy

You can be selfish on vacation – and a private villa is definitely the better upgrade to a single room. On the small island of Kéa, just 45 minutes by boat from Athens, new villas at the luxury resort offer just that: over 400 square meters of space for large families, groups or solo travellers who want plenty of room for themselves. Best of all, some of the 40 private villas are even available to buy. If you come back regularly anyway, you might find the perfect investment here.

Anniversary

Origami

It can get crowded quickly in the city – so walking is often the best way to get around. For longer distances, however, the coolest, most environmentally friendly and elegant way is on two wheels: with a folding bike from Brompton. Exactly 50 years ago, this practical bike captured the hearts of cosmopolitans and cycling fans worldwide. Easily foldable, it also fits easily into the suitcase on vacation. To mark the anniversary, the C-Line is now available in new colors and with 12 gears. Every year, almost 100,000 Bromptons are produced by hand in the UK. A Brompton produces 6.2 tons less CO₂ than a car – and you can even fit 42 folded Bromptons in a parking space. Who needs a Tesla then?
