FACES: When do you use the MTB 03 in-ear headphones from Montblanc?
Morgan Mesple: I mainly use them when I’m traveling and going to the gym. As a big Sennheiser fan*, I also like to use them to listen to certain tracks in the studio.
(Editor’s note: To develop the sound of the MTB 03, Montblanc turned to sound engineer Axel Grell, who was one of Sennheiser’s top designers for over three decades).
FACES: What’s special about the headphones and what do you like best about them?
Morgan Mesple: I see them almost as a style accessory, which I really like. I’m a big fan of their design, as they are minimalist, sporty and high-quality. They also fit my inner ear perfectly and make me feel as if I’m not wearing headphones at all. I also like the stylish white micro-logo, which is reminiscent of the Montblanc Meisterstück and stands out particularly well against the black background.
FACES: How would you describe the sound of these headphones?
Morgan Mesple: The balance between high, medium and low is excellent. Above all, the quality of the highs is superbly adjusted without the lows appearing too bloated.
FACES: What is the advantage of these in-ear headphones over over-ear headphones?
Morgan Mesple: They are very practical. The in-ear headphones also generate less heat around the ears during sport.
FACES: How easy or difficult is it to use the headphones for the first time?
Morgan Mesple: Very simple, they are immediately ready for use. I just had to have a quick look at how to connect it to a new device.
FACES: What do you like about the headphone case?
Morgan Mesple: I really like the minimalist design. The flat base also makes it very easy to place on the table without the case rolling away. I also like the fact that the housing is made entirely of aluminum and no plastic is used.
FACES: How long can you listen to your favorite music with these headphones, and how long does it take to charge them?
Morgan Mesple: As a DJ and big music lover, I easily listen to four to five hours of music a day. With the MTB 03 I can listen to music for five to six hours at a time, and the case offers me a total running time of 22 hours.
FACES: Why do you recommend the MTB 03 in-ear headphones from Montblanc to your friends?
Morgan Mesple: Apart from the sound quality, which is at a very high level thanks to Sennheiser’s know-how, I recommend them because they are extremely practical, high quality and aesthetically pleasing.
FACES: What three songs are you currently listening to over and over again?
Morgan Mesple: “Significant Others” by Chaos in the CBD, “Whirl” by Wallace and “When Love is New” by Prequel.
FACES: What does music mean to you?
Morgan Mesple: In my opinion, music is a source of inspiration and a way to bring people together. Music is one of the most beautiful ways to spread creativity and love.
Montblanc MTB 03 in-ear headphones
Talking to yourself used to be the term used when someone spoke out loud without holding a phone to their ear. Today it is clear that in-ear headphones are at work here. These little things are now everywhere. And rightly so – goodbye tangled cables, we say. Now the in-ear family is growing, as Montblanc is launching its first in-ear[a][b] headphones on the market with the MTB 03. Made from deep black precious resin, it is reminiscent of the company’s famous writing instrument. But the headphones can do far more than just look good: Ergonomic fit? Check. Active noise suppression? That’s right. Waterproof? But hello. And so that we don’t lose these all-rounders right away, Montblanc has also thought of a matching aluminum charging case with a black finish. In the Montblanc Sound app, we can now have an individual hearing profile created – after all, our hearing is just as unique as our taste in music.
