Designer furniture galore at the Milan Furniture Fair. We could hardly get enough of it and have picked out the most beautiful pieces for you.
Outdoors
Solar time
Anyone who collects the most beautiful designer furniture indoors but sits outside on rickety plastic chairs should take a quick look at the new outdoor collection from Boffi De Padova. The two collections “Afternoons” and “Honoré” offer everything you need to transform your garden or patio into a sunny outdoor living room. Thanks to innovative materials such as water-repellent fabrics and quick-drying polyurethane foam, even the odd summer thunderstorm won’t leave a trace.
Dream Team
Future Nostalgia
How do you bring your favorite comfy armchair, which is a little dusty and worn out in the corner, into the future? By putting fashion designer Tiziano Guardini and architect and designer Luigi Ciuffreda to work. The two young talents have created “Narinari” for B&B Italia, which will immediately become our new favorite spot in the living room. Its unusual shape stimulates the imagination and is reminiscent of cleverly folded origami or a landing bird – but certainly not of the old TV armchair, which we immediately banish from our home.

In shape, in style
Some people find it difficult to motivate themselves to exercise. The right playlist, the right outfit and yet we only drag ourselves to the gym half-enthusiastically. What has been missing until now is equipment that is so stylish that we immediately want to turn our living room into a gym. The bench with storage space for dumbbells from Technogym has undergone a makeover for its 40th anniversary: 40 designers were given the chance to let off steam to give the Technogym Bench their own personal touch. There was no shortage of wild patterns, colors and textures. Whether fringes, leather or graffiti – you could easily forget that this is sports equipment and not art. We would love to collect them all. And then the gym lifestyle will work too.
New Collection
World tour
Giorgio Armani would have loved to be a director. However, the fashion and design world is happy that he didn’t end up behind the camera. Nevertheless, he was able to live out his cinematic dreams at the Milan Furniture Fair. There he opened the doors to Palazzo Orsini, the historic headquarters of Armani. A tour of the rooms feels like a cinematic journey to distant lands. The designer calls the new Armani/Casa collection “Echoes of the World”, which takes us to Japan, China, Morocco and all the other countries that make Armani’s source of inspiration bubble over.
Artful
Stay on the carpet
Living rooms that are completely paved with carpet give us the shivers, but so do cold feet. So a little wool under your toes is a must. We like the “Kanji” model from Rimadesio so much that we hardly dare cover it up with furniture. So let’s take off our shoes, take off our socks, lie down and stare at the ceiling.
The Star
Iconic
From a Venetian palazzo to a restaurant in Aspen to a house in Bel Air: interior designer Giampiero Tagliaferri leaves his personal signature in every room. His two home cities of Milan and Los Angeles are reflected in the design, as classic Italian beauty meets Californian modernism. Add a pinch of nostalgia and you have “Pattie”, Tagliaferri’s design for Minotti. Sweeping lines and sumptuous upholstery are reminiscent of the 1970s – a period that was a particularly frequent source of inspiration at this year’s Salone del Mobile.

Anniversary
Made in Italy
90 years must be celebrated! But how to summarize them in literary terms in an increasingly lazy world? By taking a cinematic approach. Nine decades ago, Angelo and Giuseppina Molteni founded their company. The book “Molteni Mondo: An Italian Design Story” celebrates the creative decades. And as you leaf through it, it is intended to remind you of a movie that tells the brand’s long success story.

Space-saving
Camping Indoors
When we think of folding chairs, nobody thinks of first-class design. Instead, we see festivals and campsites in our mind’s eye. Flexform proves us wrong and turns the practical outdoor seating into the star of the living room. With its comfortable leather and elegantly curved design, the foldable chair can hold its own with any cozy armchair. So you can bring that camping feeling right into your own four walls. Minus the heat, midges and mud. But with a large portion of style.
Ruby
Seeing Red
Time for a living room makeover: we want everything red. And in “Rosso Ancora”, the name of the color that caused a stir at the Salone del Mobile. Gucci has dipped five of its legendary designs from past decades in the bright shade and redesigned them for the present day. The “Ancora” collection not only honors timeless design classics, but also marks the start of a new era with Creative Director Sabato de Sarno.
Cozy
Lights on
Interior design fans who prefer to find their inspiration online have known it for a long time: the so-called “big light” has gone out. It has become a viral trend on social media to stop using harsh, uncomfortable ceiling lights and instead fill the living room with warmer, smaller light sources. Servomuto was the right place to go at the Milan Furniture Fair for anyone hopelessly addicted to the lamp trend.
Perfect form
Sit down, please
On average, we spend around nine hours a day sitting down. From a health perspective, this is a cause for concern. For design lovers, however, it is a good excuse to invest in sufficient seating. If designers have their way, they can always be optimized. The “Ipanema” collection from Poliform has been enriched with a model that tempts you to raise your average sitting height thanks to its thin leather upholstery and adapted backrest. We should easily be able to sit for ten hours a day.
Eclectic
(R)etro
Minimalism was yesterday. Lush floral patterns were the day before yesterday, in the sixties and seventies to be precise – and are now back in all their glory. At least at Etro. The “Quiltana” armchair enchants us with a good dose of vintage charm. The curved shape gives the retro piece the necessary pinch of modernity.
