On the red carpet of the Golden Globes in Hollywood, actress Christina Simpkins looked enchanting in a black dress trimmed with feathers. Dior? Chanel? Prada? Not at all. The dress is by Zurich designer Gela Wesh. Since the launch of her first collection “Celebrate” in 2013, she has enchanted with her fashion, and her magic continues with her fifth collection “Fantasy”. Feathers are Gela Wesh’s trademark: a symbol of freedom. The Kurdish woman, who grew up in Iran and Iraq, often longed for this and finally found it in self-taught fashion design. The work has paid off: in September 2019, she showed her collection for the first time at New York Fashion Week. The dream of an international career as a fashion designer thus becomes a reality.
