“I don’t want to shout things. I want people to find them.”
This quote comes from Sabato De Sarno and it explains why the Italian remained an undiscovered force in the fashion business for a long time. A valuable secret that Gucci shared with the world in May 2023 when the fashion house appointed him as its new Creative Director.
This marked the beginning of De Sarno’s planning for the 18 most important minutes of his life: the fashion show of his debut collection for the traditional brand. Under the title “Ancora”, the 42-year-old and his team further developed Gucci classics such as the Jackie Bag or the Horsebit Loafers and designed an ambitious catwalk through the heart of Milan. Spoiler: Not everything went as smoothly as a perfectly calibrated espresso machine.
