Milan is more than just Fashion Week. There is also enormous creative potential away from the runways. For example, at the WHITE Milano tradeshow, which showcased around 300 brands in Via Tortona. We show you our top five “to keep an eye on“.
Article Ten
Based in Bucharest, the Article Ten brand founded by Stefana Maior redefines timeless design by transforming luxury Maison deadstock into progressive statement pieces. The designer herself sees her designs as “a fusion of old and new, opulence and simplicity, boldness and elegance, rebellion and romance – a collection of contrasts in perfect harmony”. And as a “dynamic response” to the topic of sustainability: new statement pieces with an individual signature are created through reuse, recycling and upcycling.

Bombo Studio
If you love shirts, you can’t go past this brand: Bombo Studio stands for a balanced mix of light-heartedness, sophistication and courage, fashionably manifested in gender-neutral shirts with artistic details and striking collar shapes and cuffs. Made from 100% cotton, made in Italy.

Maria Teresa Palazzo
The eponymous brand from 23-year-old Maria Teresa Palazzo stands for a fusion of past and future. Traditional knitting techniques and a passion for craftsmanship meet feminine silhouettes and a modern design language. Her collection is a tribute to her homeland, entirely “Made in Italy”, and shows that it is possible to celebrate one’s own heritage – and yet not remain stuck in the past.

Oh Carla
Upcycling can be so beautiful! And sustainability. Founded in 2020 by Carlotta Boldracchi and Claudia Nesi, the seasonless brand Oh Carla works with recycled fabrics and leftover stock to create 100% handmade, unique pieces with a couture character. The garments are intended to “adapt to the body and be shaped by it”. The most important basis in design production is deconstruction and reconstruction, whereby all offcuts are applied to the designs using various embroidery techniques in order to completely avoid waste.

Rossi
The fact that progressiveness is also taking place in the German fashion landscape is demonstrated not least by the Rossi label. The unisex trouser collections, which are produced under the creative direction of Julian Daynov and the leadership of CEO Tobias Schellenberger and his brother David, reflect a “New Now” mindset – a concept that celebrates fashion without gender boundaries and beyond seasonal trends.
