If coolness had a face, it would be that of Lenny Kravitz. The guy is almost 60, looks like a young god and has the power of 1,000 Duracell batteries: chapeau! No wonder Jaeger-LeCoultre has snapped up the musician-slash-designer-slash-actor as its new ambassador – and Kravitz immediately took the Reverso model, which he gallantly strapped to his wrist at this year’s Oscars.

Gipfelstürmer
It costs a lot to climb an 8,000-meter peak – money, of course, but also courage. The new Montblanc collection, which pays tribute to the highest of the high with various watch models, makes it easier to conquer the summit. One person to whom we bow at least as deeply as to the peaks of the 14 eight-thousanders is Reinhold Messner, the first person to scale all their summits without the use of additional oxygen. The “Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen The 8000” is reminiscent of its performance and, in addition to the day and night display, rotating hemispheres and the glacier relief on the dial, features an image of K2 on the back of the case – one of the most dangerous mountains in the world.

As if assembling a watch movement wasn’t Sisyphean enough, Hermès goes one better with its latest models. The dials of the Slim d’Hermès models and the Arceau series are painted by hand – for example, resourceful hands spend over 50 hours painting the red and blue dial of the “Slim d’Hermès Minuit au Faubourg”, which shows Paris at night and a masked horse (two series, 24 pieces each, approx. 62’150.-, hermes.com)
Luna
It’s not just ebb and flow that the moon has under control. We also change our mood, feel awake or particularly tired, depending on how thick or thin the crescent is hanging in the sky. Vacheron Constantin’s latest watch model is inspired by our favorite star, which is why the display of the different phases of the moon is particularly prominent on the dial. Of course, the front also scores points with its Gregorian calendar with day, month and leap year display as well as the display of the decentralized mean solar time with hours and minutes, but our heart beats particularly fast when we look at the back: Here, the entire beauty of the night sky with its constellations unfolds.

Who says you always wear a watch on your wrist? Piaget has always combined watchmaking with the craft of jewelry, which is why it is only natural to simply put time around your neck. The models in the High Jewellery Sautoir range are made of shimmering rose gold and are adorned with a variety of diamonds, emeralds or turquoise cushions. The model: the designs from the 1960s that dominated the front row of Paris Fashion Week back then. The centerpiece is formed discreetly and elegantly by the colorful dials, over which the hands leisurely turn their rounds.

According to Gucci, we are already in the middle of summer. On the dial of the new G-Timeless, the bees buzz happily above the malachite base, while the steel bezel prevents them from flying away. The green leather strap fits like a glove and its bright color makes you want to stroll through flowering meadows soon.

Should we wear the styles from Ebel’s Sport Classic collection when weightlifting? Well, they certainly do a good job of distracting us from our bright red head. The Sport Classic watches combine elegance with sportiness, have robust stainless steel cases and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals as well as precise quartz or automatic movements. The models have been members of the Ebel family since 1977 – and will be given a fresh coat of paint this spring with new colors.
