New watches tempt us to time travel and history lessons and an industrial designer makes a great watch designer: here are our watch & jewelry trends of the month.
New Collection
Wide awake
Louis Vuitton calls its 19th century-inspired high-jewellery collection “Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds”. The sight of the sparkling pieces not only awakens the spirit, but also the urge to buy. The second chapter of this chic story features a total of 50 shiny pieces, all of which are inspired by the scientific breakthroughs of the era. At a time when the great mysteries of the world suddenly began to be solved, creativity and craftsmanship also flourished.

Anniversary
Time travel
What was actually going on on this planet in 1755? The earth shook terribly in Lisbon. Little else seemed to be going on; after all, there were no railroads or electricity, no vaccinations, no cameras and no radio. At the time, climate change had not yet been initiated either. Sounds quite relaxed. But time already existed. In the form of mechanical pocket watches. This is how Jean-Marc Vacheron started the history of a brand in Geneva in 1755 that can now look back on 270 years of creation and tradition. This milestone is being celebrated with the reissue of an iconic timepiece. The Historiques 222 comes with a stainless steel case. The model is reminiscent of a creation that was presented in 1977 to mark the 222nd anniversary. On the case back, you can not only see the anniversary signature, but also the in-house caliber 2455/2 thanks to the transparent sapphire crystal. We Love
Ultra
Perhaps it’s because they keep time – and the racing hours remind us of the past: the most beautiful new watches are created with a generous helping of nostalgia. The Ultra-Chron from Longines, for example, is inspired by one of its predecessors from 1968. The 2025 version is dressed in the innovative material carbon, which is being used for the first time in the case of a Longines watch. Longines, “Ultra Chron Carbon”,approx. 4’600,

Collaboration
Superstar
“I wear a watch every day and hate being late,” says British industrial designer Tej Chauhan. The best prerequisites for designing a timepiece. That’s why Tej was asked by Rado for the second time to translate his design language onto a watch. And on none other than the Rado DiaStar Original, which has been popular with design fans since its launch a good six decades ago. Chauhan also drew on his favorite source of inspiration for this model: a future that is not yet here, but close enough to experience it for himself one day. Rado, “Rado DiaStar Original x Tej Chauhan Special Edition”, approx. 2,150,

New Edition
Winner
Gold, silver, bronze? We want all three, plus burgundy on top. This was the mindset with which Omega approached the design of the new edition of the popular Seamaster Diver 300M. The unique Omega alloy, enriched with 37.5% 9K gold, palladium and silver, is responsible for the coloring and also ensures that there is no undesirable verdigris oxidation. The edition comes in two models with the same 42 mm bronze gold case and burgundy bezel ring, but with different bracelets to choose from. Brushed bronze gold or black rubber complete the timepiece. Omega, “Seamaster Diver 300M Bronzegold”, approx. 26’500.-,
