Mitsuru Nishizaki, founder and creative director of Ujoh, has earned himself a permanent place in the Paris Fashion Week calendar. The brand is known for constantly rethinking the language of tailoring and cutting techniques and questioning its own codes, shapes and structures with curiosity rather than rigid tradition. Precise tailoring remains central to this, but is rarely treated in a conventional way. Instead, Nishizaki approaches the subject with a great deal of imagination. As a result, structure appears elegant but never stiff: creative but controlled. For fall/winter 2026/27, Nishizaki gave the collection the title Antithesis, a play on opposites – structure and softness, discipline and lightness – that come together within the same silhouette.
Ujoh Fall/Winter 2026/27 Collection
The collection revolves around the idea of antithesis: structure meets softness, discipline meets lightness. The precision in the cut remains visible, but the silhouettes appear more relaxed and move between elegance and a slight disorder. Materials play a central role here. Some fabrics are produced in Japan on a Schönherr loom from the 1960s, which works five times slower than modern machines and gives the textiles a dense, almost tangible quality. Faux-suede and faux-fur appear in aviator jackets, while lace makes a surprise appearance under textured layers. Check patterns bring in a subtle 90s grunge vibe, and a dark palette of black, chocolate and rosewood is broken up by accents of fern green and fig.

The Ujoh Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection continues to refine the elements that define the house – precision in tailoring, an inventive approach to tailoring and a particular sense of proportion. With each season, Mitsuru Nishizaki pushes these ideas further, experimenting within the design language he has built for the brand. Here, structure and softness move naturally side by side and show that opposites do not collide at Nishizaki, but generate energy.
