This spring, Glamira welcomes Sylvie Meis to the family, as the presenter has designed her own collection for the jewelry brand. Sylvie Meis reveals more in the interview.
FACES: You have designed a jewelry collection for Glamira. How did the collaboration come about?
Sylvie Meis: It’s very important to me that the brands I work with really believe in me. I immediately had that feeling with Glamira. Jewelry is simply part of it for me. When I received the cooperation request, the case was clear. The style of Glamira, the messages of their designs, their approach to emphasizing the uniqueness of people with their jewelry, as well as the products themselves, convinced me of the brand.
Q: What was the biggest challenge in creating the collection?
SM: Incorporating my style into the collection and adapting it to Glamira’s modern signature was certainly one of the challenges. There were also numerous gemstones and diamonds in different colors and shapes to choose from. I could hardly make up my mind. It was an intensive and creative path to the perfect collection, but together with the Glamira team we created beautiful pieces.
Q: What was your inspiration for this?
SM: Nature and my entire environment is my source of inspiration, I am always touched by the beauty of nature – the light, the shadows and the shapes. But also, of course, what I hear and perceive every day. In the Sylvie by Glamira collection, I have designed pieces of jewelry that I have always wanted to wear myself. It’s a great feeling to design jewelry and personalize it according to your own wishes. This collection is 100 percent me.
Q: Which piece of jewelry in your jewelry box do you associate with the best memories?
SM: I associate an emotion or memory with each individual piece. I sat down to work on each of the designs and drew inspiration from my surroundings, experiences and feelings. If I have to name my absolute favorites, then these are of course pieces that I can wear every day for any occasion, morning to night. The GWERTHUSO or VERDANT earrings and the VIRDIS and KAUPAPA bracelets are absolute everydays.
Q: What is your current favorite piece of jewelry or combination?
SM: I prefer to wear white gold earrings with diamonds or bracelets in yellow gold. I generally mix jewelry, for example several bracelets with a simple necklace and matching earrings. So in my private life I wear everything in my new Glamira collection every day.
