Hurray for individualism! And to the talents from Zalando’s new campaign, who inspire us to create our own outfits with their cool streetwear looks.
Hoodies, sweatpants, sneakers. These are the basics for cool streetwear. A little bit of hip-hop, a pinch of skatewear and a whole lot of sports – that’s how we enter the race for the coolest streetwear styles. After all, fashion is not just clothing, but a way of expressing ourselves. What do we want? Individuality! You can’t buy coolness, but you can buy the right pieces for your personal style. That’s why we’re doubly excited about Zalando, on whose platform we can buy the hottest styles and fashion pieces from the coolest streetwear labels. And there’s more: for its new campaign, Zalando is bringing on board talented people who are not afraid to stand out with their outfits.
They come from all over Europe, the influencers who inspire the Zalando community with their streetwear styles. There is, for example, the German-Spanish singer and actor Aron Piper, who waves the flag for individuality side by side with the music geniuses Yendry and Zabson from Italy and Poland, the French rapper Chilla and the dance collective Let It Happen. A Swiss is also on board: rapper and Superwak Clique member SLIMKA, whose cool outfits almost overshadow his rap skills. We grabbed SLIMKA between the campaign shoot and the stage and put him through his paces:
Can you tell us your three styling tips for a cool streetwear outfit?
SLIMKA: Don’t think too much about it, and don’t hesitate to combine different styles and labels. Don’t try to please others, but pay attention to what you like yourself! And thirdly, the clothes should of course be comfortable.
In which city do you see the coolest street style?
Paris!
Why Paris in particular?
SLIMKA: Because Paris is a city where different cultures come together and people are not afraid to take risks. They are much more open to art.
Which streetwear brands do you particularly like?
SLIMKA: Marni and 032c are my absolute favorites!
