“Your shoes have to match your belt. That’s rule number one for guys.” Ashton Kutcher

Flashback

A multitude of bags and yet somehow none that match your outfit? That’s why we like models that can do more than one thing, so we don’t even have to choose one. Liebeskind Berlin makes our lives easier with its new OTEGA, because the minimalist bag made of soft lambskin leather can be carried directly by the integrated handle, with a short handle or as a shoulder bag. There’s enough space so that we don’t have to do without anything, but not so much that we’re tempted to pack half the beauty shelf with us. In addition to its functionality, however, the OTEGA impresses us with its seventies-inspired colors, which have beautiful names such as Golden Amber or Deep Taupe. Liebeskind Berlin, “OTEGA”, from approx. 249.-

Sex sells…

…and you catch mice with bacon. But that’s enough with the cliché slogans. Although: there is some truth to it, because where bare skin flashes, the eye wanders. That’s why we’re so paralyzed by the cut-out trend, which is creeping into our closets in the form of holey tops, pants, dresses and shoes. Such pieces are the best way to show off your best side, so make the most of it. If the obvious is too blatant for you, a bag with cut-outs or a cleverly cut shoe will create the same effect, just a few steps more subtle.

Agl, “Viggy”, leather ankle boots, approx. 428.-
Off-White, cotton jeans, approx. 549.-
Alexandere McQueen, wool jacket, approx. 2’513.-

Foresight

Sunglasses are as individual as their wearers. That’s why there is not just one, but a wealth of models that make us happy depending on our mood. Silhouette celebrates individuality and presents three pairs of glasses in its summer collection that couldn’t be more different. There is the Bolshoi Grace, a model with a design inspired by ballet and a 23-carat gold-plated rim. The Accent Shades are reminiscent of times gone by with their gradient lenses, while the two frame variants in butterfly shape or as a classic aviator celebrate the seventies. The models in the SUN LITE line, whose frames are somewhat more restrained, are more classic. If you prefer, opt for a version with a blue-violet color gradient or go undercover with a model in black and brown. Although their designs are so different, all Silhouette models have one thing in common: their lightness, as the sunglasses are worn as if we had nothing on our noses.

Livin’ la vida loca

We would love to get away, go to the beach somewhere, bury our feet in the sand, stretch our noses in the wind and enjoy the sun and simply enjoy the time. Tamara Comolli’s jewelry brings wanderlust to our wrists and necks. Inspired by Mexico, its blue waters, exuberant festivals and colorful dresses, the creoles and bracelets adorned with gemstones celebrate life. Sapphires, tsavorites and diamonds are the main protagonists of the GYPSY collection, which can be worn in the form of pendants with a leather strap or gold chain. The jewelry label celebrates the idea of not letting real jewelry disappear into a box, but rather wearing it every day so that the ring or bracelet becomes a real favorite for special moments. Rick Owens

Belly

Why sweat on the mat when you can hide your toned stomach under your T-shirt? Designers are leading the way and showing short tops that sometimes leave more, sometimes less room for imagination. We play with the navel flash and combine crop tops with pants or skirts. The fit is important so that what should actually be concealed does not fall out when you strut around. The new tops are colorful, tie-up and even long-sleeved, which also draws attention to the more or less toned abs. Speaking of which, you can confidently do without the latter, and if you feel more comfortable with it, combine the crop top with high-waisted jeans or a waist skirt. After all, anyone who avoids indulging in an ice cream while this trend is being demonstrated is better off leaving the whole thing alone anyway.

Visionaries

Designers and photographers swim in the same piranha-infested waters called fashion. This is where Azzedine Alaïa and Peter Lindbergh came together, two greats in their field and both masters at what they do. What the two also have in common is their love of the color black, which Lindbergh celebrates in the form of black and white photographs and Alaïa through monochrome clothing. Taschen’s new work, which bears both their names as its title, emphasizes how similar the two approach their work, how related their thoughts are and their understanding of beauty. The 240 pages feature faces captured by Lindbergh and designs by couturier Alaïa that have far more to do with art than with normal clothing. The book weighs in at 1.41 kilograms, and it could be even more, given the artistic weight that “Peter Lindbergh. Azzedine Alaïa”. “Peter Lindbergh. Azzedine Alaïa”, hardcover, 24 x 32.7 cm, 1.41 kg, 240 pages, pockets, approx. 60.- (www.taschen.com)
