“The rule of fashion is to change – you do not want to be stuck in the same rut.” Donatella Versace
Hippie Heart
We all thought the month of March would never end – and yet we have already arrived in summer. To help us keep a close eye on the time in the coming weeks, we occasionally glance at the new Ebel Sport Classic Lady Brown (approx. 3,000.-), whose brown dial matches the summer complexion like the flip-flops now on our feet. Brushed stainless steel with gold details, Roman numerals and eight diamonds: The Ebel wristwatch is a real showstopper, yet it doesn’t look overloaded. A little hippie, a little retro and all combined with the sporty, elegant design of the Ebel Sport Classic: we love!
Bodyguard
With all the virus protection and the joy of the end of the lockdown, we must not forget one thing: the sun. It bangs away – corona or not. Yes, it’s a bit much to ask for mouth and head protection, but it’s better to moan about sunburn and headaches now than later. After all, there are plenty of cool hats and role models like the models at Jacquemus or Giada Curti who make straw headwear really cool.
Heal me
Everything is going to the dogs. Health, living together, the world. It’s great that brands like Viktor&Rolf and Calida are now taking action and making their contribution to better coexistence. For example, by making their joint collection one hundred percent biodegradable. The motto hits the bull’s eye: We want a better world. All styles – including pastel-colored T-shirts and shorts – are made from sustainable Tencel and proudly bear the MADE IN GREEN by Oeko-Tex® and Cradle to Cradle Certified™️ labels. Hygiene masks to match the items are also a must at the moment, with Calida planting a tree with the organization Trees Of Life for every mask sold. Viktor&Rolf X Calida, www.calida.com
Word of mouth
We won’t be getting rid of corona any time soon. Time to prepare our closet for the coming months and buy a mask that won’t end up in the bin after two hours. And because we want to support local labels at the same time, we get our face mask from Zurich designer Julian Zigerli. Stripes, dots or cheese print instead of medical white or blue: we are prepared. Julian Zigerli, “Zigerli’s Protective Masks”, ca. 39.- (store.julianzigerli.com)
No more isloation
Just as we’ve got used to lounging around in worn shorts and old hoodies, we’re allowed back out on the street. To make the changeover a little easier, we’re now getting ourselves some cool loungewear that we can wear outside without feeling guilty. Sporty & Rich is sweetening our summer with minimalist sweaters and shorts with prints that not only look cool but are also aimed at our inner pig. www.sportyandrich.com

There are books that you don’t pass on. You wrap them in tissue paper every time you move and put them on the coffee table because the sight of them makes you happy. Helmut Newton’s Brummer “SUMO” is one such work that has made the leap from book to art. Too bad, there were only 10,000 copies when it was first published twenty years ago, which were quickly traded on eBay and at auctions for sums that could have been spent on a family portrait of Newton himself. 620,000 German marks were put on the table in April 2000 by someone who apparently could no longer live without the book. To mark the centenary of the fashion photographer’s birth, 464 photos are being reprinted and reissued in a SUMO XL version by Taschen. If you don’t get this collector’s item now, you can probably bid on Ebay again soon. Helmut and June Newton, “SUMO. 20th Anniversary Edition”, bags, approx. 140.-
