From June 24 to July 20, 2026, the Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris will host a special exhibition dedicated to the Milan-based jewelry house Pomellato. “Pomellato, Le Joaillier Révolutionnaire” focuses on the Maison’s legendary campaigns.

While many luxury brands bear the name of their founder, Pomellato’s creator, Pino Rabolini, showed a bit more imagination when naming his jewelry label. In Italian, “Pomellato” refers to a rare, strikingly patterned horse, known in German (somewhat less flatteringly) as an “apple-gray.” It’s a nod to Rabolini’s passion for horses and his father’s advice to always bet on the right one. Nearly 60 years later, the Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris seems to be doing just that with its exhibition.

Great Masters, Strong Women
Carefully curated by jewelry expert Alba Cappellieri, “Le Joaillier Révolutionnaire” highlights the many innovative approaches through which the Milan-based jewelry house has shaped the industry. The exhibition focuses on the Maison’s iconic advertising campaigns. Pomellato was the first jewelry brand ever to entrust its visual language to the great masters of photography. Works by Gian Paolo Barbieri, Helmut Newton, Albert Watson, Herb Ritts, and other icons show how the image of the modern woman has evolved over the decades. The focus has always been on a protagonist who didn’t receive her jewelry as a gift, but chose it herself. Or, to quote Destiny’s Child: “The rock she’s rocking, she bought it.” This attitude continues to define the house, founded in 1967, to this day. Through the“Pomellato for Women”initiative, the brand has been advocating for gender equality and against gender-based violence since 2017.

What Has Happened and What’s Next
But the exhibition, which can be viewed free of charge from June 24 to July 20, 2026, doesn’t just look back on legendary photographs. It also tells the story of Pomellato’s innovative spirit: from sculptural gold necklaces and the bold use of colored gemstones to iconic collections like Nudo. Or, as Rabolini himself would say, jewelry that’s “too sexy for the safe.” Just in time for the exclusive private viewing on June 23, Pomellato will also unveil its latest haute joaillerie collection, Pomellato Stile Libero, for the first time.
