From the Champs-Élysées to SoHo: Longchamp and Jeremy Scott continue their shared success story. As part of the “Hidden Treasure” exhibition in New York, the French fashion house celebrated not only 250 years of cultural exchange between France and the U.S., but also two decades of creative collaboration with the American designer.

France and the United States share a relationship marked by admiration, friction, and mutual inspiration. During both world wars, the two nations stood shoulder to shoulder. In the early 2000s, however, political tensions reached a curious peak: because France did not support the Iraq War, some Americans promptly renamed their beloved French fries “Freedom Fries.” Today, those times seem far behind us. Instead of political differences, cultural similarities are now the focus. The French luxury association Comité Colbert is celebrating this with the exhibition “Hidden Treasure” at The Shed, a cultural center in New York City. The exhibition featured a curated selection of iconic objects that highlight the historical and creative connections between the two countries. These were presented in shipping crates.

Together with 68 renowned luxury brands, the retrospective celebrates 250 years of friendship between France and the United States. Among the highlights is the presentation by Longchamp and American designer Jeremy Scott. For two decades, these two names have been synonymous with one of the fashion world’s most successful collaborations.

Two Decades of Longchamp x Jeremy Scott
The exhibition centers on the Le Pliage® “Greetings from Paris,” which was created in 2014 to mark the opening of the Longchamp boutique on the Champs-Élysées. The bag is displayed alongside an overview of all previous collaborations with the designer, highlighting just how close the creative bond between Paris and New York has become.

This success story began back in 2006. To mark the opening of the Longchamp boutique in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, Jeremy Scott designed the limited-edition luggage collection “This is not your Bag,” thereby giving the brand a new, pop-culture-inspired perspective. That first project evolved into an extraordinary collaboration that continues to this day. Over the past twenty years, Scott has created more than 25 designs, each time reinterpreting the iconic Le Pliage®.

The designs quickly became coveted collector’s items and gained celebrity fans such as Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Miley Cyrus, and Rita Ora. The latest chapter in their shared history also shows that the collaboration has lost none of its appeal to this day: To mark the anniversary, Longchamp and Jeremy Scott are launching the limited-edition Le Pliage® “Greetings from New York.” The bag features the Manhattan skyline in the style of a nostalgic travel postcard and bears the tongue-in-cheek message on the back: “Wish you were here! Love, Jeremy.”

Postcards from the History of Fashion
In conjunction with the exhibition, Longchamp is transforming its New York flagship boutique, La Maison Unique in SoHo—which is open to the public through July 5—into an immersive Jeremy Scott retrospective. Visitors can discover some of the most iconic designs from the past two decades—from “Greetings from Paris” to “Greetings from Hollywood” to “Greetings from Paradise.” Among those in attendance: HypeBeast editor and TikTok sensation Dylan Kelly (always a good sign). In an interview for his “Walk with Me” series, Scott answers the question of why he has been working with the French brand for years—making it his longest creative partnership: “It’s an icon. And I love icons.”
