After a whole month of fashion madness, I have to admit that I was practically on my last legs towards the end of the Fashion Week month in Paris and couldn’t muster up much enthusiasm for the Lacoste fashion show. But to my surprise, pleasantly surprised! The Lacoste Fall/Winter 2024/25 collection was like a breath of fresh air in an industry where everyone seems to be playing it safe. This collection wasn’t just a little change here and there; it was a complete makeover while still maintaining that unmistakable Lacoste vibe. It has managed to stay true to its roots while exuding a completely revamped, incredibly cool atmosphere.
The Lacoste fall/winter 2024/25 collection
Innovative tailoring skillfully combines subtle contrasts in fit to create a harmonious overall look. Pleated skirts radiate sophistication, while leather inserts elevate sporty elements to design statements. Dynamic pieces such as sports tops, parkas and down jackets combine fashion with functionality. Traditional cable patterns lend a vintage charm, and coats with generous cuts prioritize freedom of movement and complement modern ensembles. The collection harmoniously combines grace and sophistication with performance and comfort, contrasting lace, silk and sheer layers with technical sports materials. The color palette reflects Lacoste’s heritage and ranges from sensual black to terracotta with accents of sky blue, grass green and Lacoste’s signature hue, as well as pure white, symbolizing victory.
Greek-American designer Pelagia Kolotouros leads Lacoste, inspired by the brand’s archives to reinterpret French tennis uniforms with a modern twist. The collection features powerful silhouettes interspersed with sporty elements and iconic crocodile logos, alongside reinterpreted polo shirts dating back to 1933. The entire collection pays tribute to René Lacoste’s legacy.
My biggest unexpected surprise of Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024/25.
