Closets are gaining weight every year. The reason for this? He walks through shopping malls on two legs and picks up even more cupboard food. But not only is more clothing being bought, more is also being thrown away. To counteract this unsustainable trend, more and more brands are offering their own repair services. We’ll show you where you can have your clothes mended.
Dior
Whether purchased online or in-store, the French fashion brand’s repair service will breathe new life into your broken Dior products in its in-house workshops.
Brunello Cucinelli
According to Brunello Cucinelli, repair is an art form. And because Brand is so serious about repairs, it also offers a free repair service in which the company’s experts take care of damaged items of clothing.
Hermès
Once you’ve managed to get hold of something from Hermès, you won’t want to give it up again in a hurry. Fortunately, Hermès also seems to be aware of this and therefore offers its own repair and rejuvenation services.
Levi’s Tailor Shop
Levi’s not only gives your favorite jeans a second life, but also a new look. In the Levi’s Tailor Shops you can not only repair your favorite items, but also decorate them with patches and pins or have them transformed into something completely new by upcycling.
Ascetic
The Swedish label goes all out when it comes to sustainability: While you can find care and repair instructions on the website, Asket takes care of clothes that can no longer be saved. The fire then ensures that it is repaired and subsequently resold or recycled. This means you don’t have to worry about your favorite items rotting in landfills and in return you even receive a credit called a “Revival Reward”. Incidentally, you can buy used Asket parts that have been repaired and refurbished by the label in the so-called Restore shop.
Zara
Initially only in England, Zara has also been offering its own repair service since last year, where clothes can be mended. Another new feature is the resale platform, where you can sell your used Zara items and buy pieces from other Zara shoppers. The Zara project also makes it possible to donate clothes, with the proceeds going to charitable organizations.
Patagonia
There are plenty of repair instructions on the Patagonia website. And if the stupid button just won’t hold despite instruction videos on a continuous loop, the label also offers its own repair service.
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton’s repair service can already look back on over 160 years of know-how. And the service is still practicing its craft diligently today: after all, the French fashion house’s artisans rescue over 600,000 creations every year.
Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta has been offering golden cards since 2022. Although these do not give you access to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, they do give you access to the in-house repair service. They are called “Cerificate of Craft”, come in a leather card holder and guarantee our bags unlimited repairs.
Uniqlo
Repair instructions in video format can also be found on the Uniqlo website. If you don’t have the time or skills, you can also visit a Re.Uniqlo studio, for example in Berlin, where they can give you a helping hand with mending.
Burberry
At Burberry, neither trench coats nor handbags need to be put to the test sooner than necessary. In addition to repair services, the British label with the checked pattern also offers special care treatments for leather products and coats so that they don’t have to be mended in the first place.
The North Face
North Face is an old hand when it comes to repair service. After all, the label’s warranty and repair department already has 52 years under its belt. New, however, is “The Northface Renewed”: Here you can give repaired used clothing a second life and benefit from discounts at the same time.
