Fashion trends of the month

A Chanel bag is replacing everything else on our wish list, the most colorful loafers follow immediately after and peep-toes are once again dividing opinion: here are our fashion trends of the month.

Trend

Ruffled Feathers

That sounds like a perfect mix of styles! The balance between romance, rock and a touch of vintage grunge makes for an exciting yet wearable outfit. Alexander McQueen really knows how to combine these elements in a way that makes them look sophisticated yet with a rebellious twist. Perfect for a summery look that is playful yet sophisticated at the same time.

Darling

It-girl meets It-bag

Anyone who is immediately recognized by their first name alone has definitely reached superstar level. Just like Jennie from the K-pop girl band Blackpink, who has also made a name for herself as an actress and solo artist. As the quintessential It girl, she now presents the It bag that everyone has their eye on: Chanel 25 from the current spring-summer collection. So that every bag collector can find the perfect new everyday companion, the 25 is not only available in three sizes, but also in classic black and a pastel palette ranging from light yellow to mint green. And if leather is not your thing, grab the denim version.

Unfuck the World

Less is More

How much clothing is enough? Probably a lot less than we all have in our closets. Société Angelique therefore focuses on smaller collections. Consumers are encouraged to invest in a few favorite pieces that can be styled in a variety of ways. But that’s not all: there is a QR code on the clothing that not only reveals the origin of the material, but also who made the piece.

Collaboration

Brightly colored

It’s the unexpected pairs that harmonize best. Want an example? The simple, classic leather loafers from Scarosso and Toiletpaper, the wild magazine and creative studio of Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari. This meeting resulted in four unique pairs of shoes that combine the best of both worlds: Craftsmanship and quality as well as brightly colored artistic design. Those who have been following the magazine for some time will recognize the iconic designs, which, before they landed on shoes, already adorned vases, furniture and walls. The colorful kicks were duly celebrated during the Milan Furniture Fair: In the three-storey Toiletpaper headquarters with DJ sets and – for the full load of Italo power – a spaghetti feast.

New Collection

Craft

In her Berlin studio, Franziska Vogt creates sculptural pieces of jewelry from recycled 925 silver. And she does so outside of all traditions: Her label YCCIJ (You can call it jewellery) knows no gender and no collection cycles. Instead, sustainability is just as important as aesthetics. Well-preserved, set stones made from old gold are given a second life in YCCIJ’s creations. A new collection has now emerged, the seventh from the workshop. “Pars pro toto” contains everything you need to adorn yourself in a striking way: Striking earcuffs, hoop earrings, bangle bracelets and a handcrafted necklace.

Book

Silky soft

It is an art to walk the line between grandmotherly and chic when it comes to artfully tying on a silk scarf. Gucci has been getting the hang of it since the 1950s. Since then, silk scarves have always been on the agenda. This year, a number of star guests are ensuring that the scarf is cool again. Julia Garner in a campaign, numerous artists who put their own stamp on the piece of fabric and, last but not least, a book published by Assouline that explains the art of the Gucci silk scarf from A to Z.

It-Piece

Peeping

The best things about fashion are the pieces that evoke exactly two emotions – on opposite fronts: passionate hatred or flaming love. Peep-toes are one such example. Some people love them, others will never understand why one and a half crushed toes have to peek out of a shoe. That’s fashion – everything is allowed, nothing has to be. The good news for all those who are fans of this footwear: Peep-toes are back this season.
