You don’t have to carry a designer bag that costs more than a car to look cool.

While the dark clouds are slowly disappearing and vibrant colors are replacing the dull grey, we are already reaching for bright accessories! We’ve had enough of monotony and have opted for colorful pieces of jewelry that also score points for sustainability. So let’s celebrate spring with Silverelephant’s pieces, which put us in a cheerful mood just by looking at them! As if we weren’t already enchanted enough by the colorful designs, the German jewelry label also makes its pieces by hand from recycled materials, all in its own studio in Hamburg. silverelephant.store
Eye-catcher
Sometimes an outfit lacks that certain something: no matter how often we change the top, change the color combination or completely dismantle the closet, there are days when we are simply not satisfied with the result. But that’s no reason to bury your head in the sand! Because it’s precisely for emergencies like these that we dig into our jewelry box and discover new treasures: Body chains pimp up every outfit and transform simple dresses into a party-ready look! We wrap them around our bodies in a playful way, just like we did with the fairy lights on the Christmas tree a few months ago.

Even though we love denim in all its shapes and colors, it always comes with a bitter aftertaste: because by the time we hold a pair of jeans in our hands, they have already been through a lot. Long transportation routes, huge CO2 emissions and gigantic water consumption: the list goes on and on. C&A is counteracting this by opening its own Factory for Innovation in Textiles, C&A FIT, in 2021 to produce sustainable clothing using state-of-the-art technology. For the time being, the focus is on jeans production, with other sectors to follow. The first collection is now available: “Forever Denim” consists of six pairs of jeans (approx. 80.- each), which will be available from the 24th. March 2022 are available exclusively in the C&A online store and at Zalando.

There is more to the leather bags from Les Visionnaires than just cool design. Namely a non-profit concept. Together with Women’s Hope International, the label supports young women in Ethiopia and enables them to train as midwives. For every Les Visionnaires bag (from 130.-) or accessory (from 150.-) sold, one euro is donated to the organization. les-visionnaires.com

Caught! In the home office we wear sweatpants and hoodies, but of course not in boring gray, but in hip purple! The Swiss label Lola Studio provides us with matching pieces made from organic and recycled materials. Apart from the cool design, the focus is on leaving the smallest possible ecological footprint on the earth during production. Lola Studio, sweater for 99.-, pants for 109.-,lolastudio.ch

Be honest: there is at least one item in our closet that we have never worn since we bought it. We know ourselves that this is not only a waste of space and money, but also does not really correspond to our sustainable world view. The open closet in Bern helps us to avoid such bad buys: at Waisenhausplatz 28 we don’t buy clothes, we borrow them! We have a whole wardrobe full of everyday clothes at our disposal, where we can borrow items for as long as we like and return them when we no longer need them. A varied wardrobe? That’s how it works!

Knitting is one of those things: some people think it’s super cool and others dismiss it as a senior citizen thing. One thing is clear: knitted pieces really make a statement! We no longer only reach for knitwear in winter, but also take our favorites with us into the next season. And if we can’t find an item or it’s simply too expensive, we get creative and simply knit the next one ourselves!

We love crazy combinations. But what exactly do apples, corn and cacti have to do with bags? It’s simple: they are all part of the Miomojo bags! The Italian label not only dispenses with leather, but also uses a fruit-based substitute. Miomojo won the PETA Vegan Fashion Award in 2021, as the label not only works with vegan materials, but also donates ten percent of every item sold online to an animal welfare organization. miomojo.com
