The show opened with Kim Carnes’ “Bette Davis Eyes” and immediately set a calculated tone. This is a collection rooted in absolute confidence and designed for a woman who is acutely aware of her audience. She is glamorous, seductive, and a little dangerous—and she has the audience’s attention completely under her control. She is the protagonist of her own story; her clothes may provoke, but her attitude says: “Thanks, but no thanks.”
The Scervino fashion house expressed this dynamic of power through a deliberate tension between freedom of movement and structure. The collection’s strength lies in its proportions: crisp, masculine shirts worn open over voluminous balloon miniskirts, balanced by glimpses of slips and lace inserts that appear substantial rather than fragile. Discipline is expressed through tailoring—military-inspired jackets in ivory, denim, and suede, embellished with gold cords and sharp edges that lend architectural weight without appearing heavy. It serves as a clever counterbalance to the sheer skirts and petticoats, underscored by a subdued color palette of red, caramel, and black.
