Our winter cover is a real eye-catcher. On the one hand, this is due to the fantastic look by Austrian designer Jennifer Milleder, whose unconventional silhouette makes you want to look at it more than once. On the other hand, of course, it’s also down to our cover model Anna Shi, whose look is equally captivating. In the interview, she tells us what her favorite look from the shoot was and what needs to change in the fashion industry.
FACES: The look that ended up on our cover is particularly eye-catching with its striking silhouette. Do you have a favorite look from this shoot?
Anna Shi: I actually loved every outfit, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the all-black look with the asymmetrical dress and the braids.
Q: How do you like to dress in your private life and how would you describe your personal style:
AS: The description smart casual describes it best. I love simple, minimalist outfits and comfort is always my top priority.
Q: What do you like best about modeling?
AS: The opportunity to travel to places I’ve never been before and to meet so many talented people from the industry. The contact with creative people inspires me a lot.
Q: Is there anything you would like to change about the industry?
AS: I’m really happy with my job as a model and I think it’s great that the industry is becoming more and more creative and diverse. But I would still like to see more sustainability in the fashion industry, for example less waste, more responsible production and more awareness of the impact of clothing production on the environment.

Q: How do you like to spend your time when you’re not modeling?
AS: Modeling is not only my profession, but also one of my biggest hobbies. Besides fashion, I like to enrich my inner world with reading and creative activities such as playing the piano, drawing or learning new instruments.
Q: What do you really want to achieve in your career over the next few years?
AS: I would like to work more internationally and explore different fashion concepts and ideas from all over the world.
Q: And which fashion labels would you most like to work with?
AS: I have always dreamed of working with Miu Miu, Saint Laurent, Celine and The Row. I feel very connected to their style and the worlds they create.
Q: What tips would you give young girls who are just starting out in the modeling industry?
AS: Believe in yourself. Be confident, stay professional and bring real passion to everything you do.
