From 24. October 2023 until 27. On January 1, 2024, the Hotel Helvetia will be serving its five-course Tünklü menu in its own pop-up Fondue Châlet Helvti-Chäschtli.
What makes it easy for us to overcome the cold snap? The fact that a delicious fondue is back on the culinary agenda. Our secret favorite for melted cheese: the pop-up Fondue Châlet Helvti-Chäschtli in the Hotel Helvetia. For the third time, the pool bar will become a place that celebrates cosiness and Swiss cuisine – in a stylish way. Hut charm? Yes, very much so, but without antlers and undergrowth. Instead, modern art by Florian Graf hangs on the turquoise walls, while we toast the five-course meal to follow with delicious sparkling water.
A fondue like a Zurich home game
Every year, Hotel Helvetia teams up with its wine partner Martel and cheese grandmaster Rolf Beeler. The result is a fondue mixture that has nothing in common with the run-of-the-mill cheese from the supermarket chiller cabinet. Before the star of the evening enters the caquelon, however, our stomachs can look forward to a nut salad with champagne vinaigrette and a potato foam with truffles, which unfortunately disappears far too quickly into our hungry gullets. Beef pastrami and smoked Wiedikerli from Zurich’s Kreis Drei district make their guest appearance together with pickled vegetables, before we reverently get ready to dip potatoes, sourdough bread and bite-sized schnitzels (yes, you read that right!) into the melted vintage mixture. Ticino white or red wines are served in the glass to pimp the Zurich menu into a Swiss experience meal.
Sweet temptations always work
As the flame under the caquelon gets smaller and smaller, the desire for something sweet increases. Of course, the crew at the Helvti-Chäschtli don’t need to be told twice and serve their own Swiss stone pine ice cream coupe with vermicelles and meringue. You can’t get more Swiss autumn on your plate!
The pop-up Helvti-Chäschtli serves its five-course Tünklümen menu from 24. October until 27. January 2024 from Tuesday to Saturday (6 p.m. to midnight). Go there, dip it, taste it.
