FACES test: the best bars in Zurich

In summer, there’s nothing better than rounding off a hot day with a refreshing drink! If we can also enjoy them in a cool bar, we are perfectly happy. Here are our favorite bars in Zurich.

Sly Grog Bar

Zurich has one more hot spot. On the upper floor of our Aussie favorite, the Outback Lodge, is the new Australian cocktail bar Sly Grog. True to the motto “Life’s too short for bad drinks”, true works of art are served here, enchanting us with their sweet, sour, bitter or fruity notes. We sip our new favorite cocktail in the usual relaxed Aussie atmosphere. Special highlight: the new tea time where we are served a gin and tonic in a tea service.

OMBRA

A pop-up bar with a Mediterranean flair: at OMBRA we come together after a long day and enjoy a Venetian aperitivo with delicious specialties! We either drink an Aperol Spritz or sip a Negroni: until the 31st. July is a busy month here!

4 animals bar

This bar has nothing to do with animals: In circle four, we find unusual gin creations on the infinitely long menu of the 4 Tiere Bar, which really pack a punch! In addition to signature cocktails such as a Lemongrass Collins with gin and lemon or a Thai Punch with gin and mango, the two bartenders specializing in gin also conjure up numerous other cocktails that will make our taste buds explode.

Acid

We do without the classics in this bar: Acid serves its own creations without a lot of frills! Here, we find ourselves surrounded by jumbled furniture and green plants, while we discover our favorites in the in-house Spirit Collection.

Barchetta Bar

In the heart of the old town: this elegant hotel bar is located directly on the Limmat with a view of Zurich’s Grossmünster. Here, cigars are smoked, snacks are nibbled and the in-house cocktail creations are sipped. From sweet, bitter and salty: every taste is catered for here.

Bar Sacchi

As soon as we set foot through this door, we land in dreamy Italy: in the Bar Sacchi, we are greeted by dusky pink walls and a golden chandelier that immediately transports us back to the Italy of yesteryear. But the real highlight: the drinks gun behind the bar! This shortens our waiting time so that we can enjoy our Negroni and Sicilian olives faster than we can finish this sentence.

Bar by the water

Pure luxury: the interior of the bar on the waterfront is not the only thing that is truly extravagant, the drinks menu also promises a lot. Under the gigantic chandelier and with a view of the Limmat, we choose the right cocktail from over 20 different alcoholic creations – and as soon as we sip one of these fine drinks, we are already part of New York’s high society.

A bar straight out of a picture book: Brick walls, subdued lighting and a rustic touch await us in the Brick cocktail bar, which immediately makes us want to stay. With their own award-winning CLOUDS Gin, the bartenders mix their own cocktails that gin lovers should not miss. And when the sun goes down, the drinks at CLOUDS are even more enjoyable.

Summer, water, sunshine: at Nude we enjoy classic cocktails right by the Limmat! We fill up on vitamin D on the large terrace while one of their signature cocktails is placed in front of us: In this café-bar establishment, far away from the fast-paced city, we find peace and quiet without a doubt.

The luxurious Widder Hotel is also home to an extravagant bar: at the Widder Bar, the Zurich tourist sits next to the city hipster and the suit-wearing businessman. Kronenhalle Bar

In the Kronenhalle Bar, we encounter impressive works of art: original paintings by great artists hang on the dark green walls, and we take a seat on matching sofa elements at the heavy marble tables.
