Whether you’re a hardcore vegan or part-time meat lover, one thing is certain: the less meat, the better. For our bodies and for the environment – and for the animals anyway. The top three with more than eight vegan-friendly restaurants per 10,000 inhabitants: Zug ahead of Bern and Basel.
Hopfen & Malz – Book “Craft Beer Design”
Craft beer is like the hipster among malt beverages. And as such, the beer is also a lot more stylish than its big brother. Around the globe, self-proclaimed brewers are experimenting with the ratio of hops and malt and creating completely new drinks in packaging whose design is more reminiscent of an LSD trip than an old-school can. It is precisely this avant-garde of packaging design that the Dane Peter Monrad collects and presents in “Craft Beer Design“, a book that celebrates what satisfies the hunger of the eye. design & Peter Monrad, “Craft Beer Design”, approx. 40.-
Together forever – Baret, Berlin
We sat at home alone for a long time, spooning packet soup out of a plastic bowl. Now we can go out again! And we invite all our friends to visit the German capital’s new delicacy with us. Somewhere between heaven and earth, on the roof of the Berlin Palace, is the Baret, on whose plates everything that brings us closer to the sun lands. Dishes that surprise and enjoyment that everyone understands: This is the concept behind the new restaurant, which serves lunch or cake during the day as a café and rolls out the red carpet for dinner guests in the evening. All this with a view over Berlin – and we are perfectly happy. Baret, Schloßplatz, 10178 Berlin, Germany, daily 12 noon to midnight, Tuesday is a day off, baret.berlin
Formula One – Pepper mill “Paris” from Peugeot
This crackling, this cracking. Turn once, a second and a third time and the symphony spreads its magic. There’s something about grinding pepper with a really good mill that doesn’t crush the grains but grinds them to the desired strength. Real ASMR, you will know! The right instrument: the grinder from Peugeot, whose Paris model currently comes in red lacquer and is boldly called Passion Red. It sits comfortably in the hand, is easy to fill and does its job so well that we’d put any bonus on our heads for it. Peugeot, Paris u’Select in “Passion Red”, 18 cm, approx. 49.-
