Then Nooch Asian Kitchen is the best solution – whether it’s fried rice, noodles, curry or sushi. The restaurant, which has several branches in Zurich, offers a wide selection on its menu. Tenz Momo
Who doesn’t know them, the little round, tasty things: the momos from Tenz are so good that they have even found a place in the Migros chiller cabinet. The Tibetan national dish impresses with its excellent, juicy beef filling. But there are also delicious alternatives for vegetarians and vegans, and the momos taste even better with their homemade Tenz chili sauce.

Maru
No time to snack outside Zurich main station? No problem. Because Maru is located right where commuters gather in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening. The freshly pre-packed donburgis are ready for collection from the refrigerated shelves at Zurich main station. If you like warm donburi, you can place your order at the counter and the dish will be freshly prepared. Fast, efficient and healthy. And what exactly is a donburi again? Donburi is a Japanese word that means “bowl”. It describes a dish in which the rice is filled into a bowl and then covered with other ingredients. For example, there is tender meat, fresh salmon, tuna or vegetables. In addition to donburi dishes, Maru also serves matcha drinks and Japanese desserts. So if you have a long day ahead of you and are looking for a caffeine alternative to coffee, Maru is just as good as a hungry commuter.

Bibim Shack
Two minutes’ walk from the Stauffacher streetcar stop is the small and unassuming corner restaurant Bibim Shack. The restaurant at Stauffacher is the big brother of the Bibim Shack takeaway on Escher-Wyss-Platz. The take-away menu offers a selection of typical Korean street food dishes such as bibimbap and bulgogi. Bibimbap is a popular Korean dish that is covered with rice, various vegetables, beef or tofu and a chili sauce. Bibimbap comes from bapeul bibida and means something like “stirring rice” or “mixing rice”. No sooner said than done: stir the dish with a spoon before taking the first bite. And yes, then it’s finally time to munch!

Yokita
This Japanese take-away is located directly on Goldbrunnenplatz. The small stand resembles its Japanese brothers – no coincidence. Yokita is the inconspicuous little pink house, but it offers a wide selection of dishes. The donburis are highly recommended, and at lunchtime we particularly like the fresh, home-made bento boxes. If you like it simple and cheap, go for yakisoba noodles – a snack that leaves you satisfied, happy and, above all, full.

Khujug
Finding good and authentic Asian cuisine is difficult. But as soon as you see that more Asians are dining in the restaurant, you can be sure: The cuisine here is good! This is the case at Khujug, where not only the Chinese cuisine but also the furnishings are impressive and offer a good ambience. One more reason to dine here: the large selection of bubble teas

Saigon
Have you ever had the feeling that food is heavy in your stomach and is slow to digest? How about Vietnamese dishes that use very little oil to keep your tummy happy? The coriander-infused dishes in Saigon provide a real sense of authenticity – and the coriander causes controversy. If you enjoy your pho soup here, you can simply leave out the cabbage that is so popular with some and hated by others.

Chiang Mai Thai Shop
We find this Thai take-away, which is also a grocery store, right next to Zurich’s main railway station. Fresh Thai specialties are prepared here daily. There are five different menus to choose from, one of which is always vegetarian. There is something for every taste when it comes to spiciness, and if you like, you can simply spice it up with the many pickled chilies.
