Between New York and Paris emulates Nicolaus Armani street photography greats of the fifties. In doing so, he has developed his very own style. Through his lens, the metropolises are full of rich red, white and blue tones and the people appear like time travelers who have no idea of the state of the world in the 21st century.

It was on social media that Nicolaus Armani discovered his great photography role models, all of whom grew up at a time when Instagram and the like were still a distant memory. Since 2017, he has been practising the art of capturing moments that would have triggered the same bittersweet nostalgia fifty years ago as they will do in the next fifty years. He regularly makes the journey from New Jersey to New York, because there is hardly any other city that hides as many photo opportunities as the Big Apple.
Even if he likes to remain mysterious: Nicolaus Armani did tell us something about his everyday life in an interview.
