Overcrowded stores, too little time, too many deadlines. In short: Christmas time. It’s a good thing that Matière Brute now also offers various great workshops in Zurich that introduce you to art and gastronomy – so you can give your loved ones something original for a change.
The list of people to give presents to at Christmas is long – but the nerve to meander through crowded shopping malls in search of suitable gifts is limited. At the same time, it is almost impossible to find something as original as possible for your loved ones under these conditions. Matière Brute is on hand to save the party from being a disaster. Since 2020, the company has been introducing the French-speaking world to art and gastronomy through various workshops. Since November 2023, we have also been able to get a taste of local craftspeople and producers in Zurich. The idea behind it: on the one hand, to teach craftsmanship skills that are increasingly being lost in this increasingly digital world and, on the other hand, to make local arts and gastronomy visible. For example, participants can cast silver rings, learn how to pickle vegetables or carve a wooden bowl. The workshops are therefore not only ideal as a creative gift, but are also the perfect opportunity to swap your desk for a workbench for a few hours. High time to offer our keyboard fingers something new.
