Justice League or the Knights of the Round Table? Pfff, we don’t give a damn about the stars of the silver screen and lift the people who hold their shield over us in everyday life. They are designers, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs or beauty experts and our heroes even without a cape and an S on their chest.

What do you put in a time capsule that you open in 20 years’ time?
Let’s assume that this time capsule is super advanced. You can put more than material things in there. I would put my feelings from right now into it. Our world is going crazy right now, many structures are beginning to crumble, uncertainties, upheavals and new beginnings. That also does a lot to me. What will happen in 20 years? Everything even crazier or completely calm? I imagine the emotional comparison will be exciting.
It’s 2001, what are you doing?
Partyyy!!! Flirt, celebrate, repeat. I was just 18 years old and more carefree than ever before in my life. The grammar school in
Zurich Stadelhofen opened up new perspectives for me, I finally went to school in the “big” city. I had endless energy. My curious, wild self could really live it out.
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
My Nokia 5510. We just called it the “bone” because it was so big and you needed both hands to text with it. I miss the communication of the old days with cell phones that didn’t display a “read” status and you couldn’t see whether the other person had read it.
is currently online.

What do you put in a time capsule that you open in 20 years’ time?
My enamel stove so that it survives the next 20 years undamaged, which is doubtful given the 40 years it has been around.
It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
I’m in the second stage of the gym, I feel like I check life pretty well, and I like to wear my underpants so that they peek out the top when I wear my skater pants too low.
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
In the past with CDs, you usually bought whole albums instead of just streaming individual songs and playlists. You can still do this today, but it practically doesn’t happen anymore. Back then, at least, I consumed music more consciously and then of course only listened to an album for weeks after buying it – some albums stayed with me for years.

It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
I’m on the road a lot as a DJ – at that time still under the name DJ Record -, study economics on the side, also work as a freelance structural draughtsman and do promos.

The peace and quiet when I didn’t have a cell phone or there was no cell phone yet. And the classic Walkman. (laughs)

What do you put in a time capsule that you open in 20 years’ time?
My memory box with photos, letters and objects from the past.
It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
I’m just starting to feel at home in Zurich and finding my feet. I’ve lived here for almost two years now, have built up a nice circle of friends and know my way around the city very well. Even the comments about my Basel dialect no longer unsettle me.
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
Commitment. The digital age has brought us many advantages as well as a few disadvantages: if I used to meet up with friends in Basel on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. sharp at the telephone booths on Barfüsserplatz, today I have to expect that an appointment will be canceled at short notice by text message.

I’m working on my thesis, traveling around the world and – not to forget – partying a lot.
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
Thank God many things no longer exist. (laughs). For example, a printed flight ticket; if you lost it, you couldn’t take the flight. I’m simply not one of those people who claim that everything was better in the past. Okay, maybe the red Twix that used to be called Ryders.

It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
We are still young and in the starting blocks. We don’t know each other yet, but we’ve both left Sweden and moved to Switzerland and the UK respectively. moved to Austria. There’s plenty of alpine air and time on the snowboard for both of them.
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
Snow. It’s no longer just nostalgic dreaming back to the snowy winter days of childhood, but we are facing a life-threatening situation. We must stand up together for the future of our planet.

What do you put in a time capsule that you open in 20 years’ time?
Photos of the most important people in my life, plus some salt and pepper and sugar, because without these important people and these three basic ingredients, life becomes lonely and unseasoned…
It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
I was a freshly qualified young chef, hard-working and full of ambition to get to where I am today, I had blonde hair and was still a sweet thing. Compared to today, I was a child who wanted to get ahead by working hard and learning, and that was clearly in Zurich…
What do you miss that no longer exists today?
I don’t really miss anything. Material things have become less important as we grow up. As I mainly worked back then, I now have my circle and my people. Well, maybe the old Nintendo for gaming or the Furby that was so trendy back then, that would be worth a short trip back in time. But only with a guarantee at the present time…

What do you put in a time capsule that you open in 20 years’ time?
The notebook in which I write down all the things I have learned in my life that I want to remember. It contains my personal valuable insights about life and also about mistakes I have made, because these are like an invaluable teacher for the future.
It’s 2001 – what are you doing?
In 2001, I was about to complete my first degree as a florist and was already the owner of my own flower store. It happened like this: The company where I started my apprenticeship had to file for bankruptcy. As this threatened my apprenticeship qualification, I decided to take over the business, including the staff, and unexpectedly became an entrepreneur at the age of 19.
