We delve deep into glitter, men should and want to venture into skincare and eyelashes glow a sunny yellow: here are our beauty trends of the month.
Hair Trend
Striped
You order a few summer highlights from your trusted hairstylist and then involuntarily look like a zebra: in the early 2000s, thick block strands were still trendy, but were often considered a hairstyle faux pas afterwards. However, trends are regularly dug up and ironically exaggerated in their revival. The chipmunk look can therefore be quite intentional

New Perfume
Scandalous
A dazzling and wild clique, with model Malika El Maslouhi in the middle, an old train and an endless journey: A fragrance should not just trigger one or two associations, but tell a story from A to Z. So for “Scandal Intense”, the new fragrance from Jean Paul Gaultier, we end up on a night train where the sleeping compartments are just for decoration, because the party is on. And what does a scandalous train ride like this smell like? Among other things, beguiling ylang-ylang blossom, vanilla and warm cardamom for her and aromatic sage, soft leather notes and glowing vetiver for him.

Darling
Watermelon Sugar
You can’t make pores disappear. And you don’t have to. However, there’s nothing wrong with working on a refined complexion. Glow Recipe has everything you need for the coveted glass skin and a sun-kissed glow. As the pretty, sculptural bottles are almost too good to throw away, you can give them a second life as a vase or decorative object.

We Love
For the Greek Gods
Skincare, anti-ageing and the like are only for women? Completely wrong, if not a little sexist. Because we all age and our largest organ is better off with care than without. Frequent shaving makes men’s skin prone to irritation. The Greek brand Korres, founded in 1996 by pharmacist Giorgos Korres, has therefore launched a men’s line. The formulas are based on various herbal remedies. With face creams, beard care and aftershave balm, men can put together a sophisticated skincare routine.

Make-up trend
It was all yellow
Switching to pastel pink lipstick because spring is here? Kind of boring. But a change of color is still necessary. This can also be done on the eyes. Eyelashes tinted in yellow ensure an alert look. Or any other color that you could never have imagined as mascara before.

Exhibition
Just add glitter
It makes our make-up sparkle, makes princess-loving children’s eyes shine and, in its edible form, makes cakes shimmer, sticks to protest posters and contributes to the microplastics problem: Glitter is omnipresent. Nevertheless, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg is the first in the world to dedicate an exhibition to the material. In this exhibition, it becomes clear that glitter is not just an essential make-up component, but a symbol of belonging, empowerment and self-determination. Protest, performance and pop culture are unthinkable without the sparkling material. Among other things, a glittering youth room by Hamburg artist Jenny Schäfer, a stage outfit by Bill Kaulitz and photographs by Quil Lemons celebrate the diversity of glitter. If that’s still not enough sparkle for you: From June, the exhibition will be extended by 300 square meters of fuchsia-coloured glitter with the room installation “Puff Out” by the Turkish-Belgian duo :mentalKLINIK.
