The spotlight has been Rebecca Mir’s home for eleven years, first as a model for Heidi Klum, then as a presenter for taff and various shows. However, the fact that the spotlights are always shining in her face doesn’t make the 29-year-old nervous, as she has a partner she can rely on in the form of products from the natural cosmetics brand Lavera.
FACES: Which beauty product do you reach for first thing in the morning, and which is the last thing you use in the evening?
Rebecca Mir: Definitely toothpaste in the morning! The last thing I do in the evening is moisturize my face before I go to bed.
F: Why are natural cosmetics your first choice?
Rebecca Mir: I pay a lot of attention to which products I put on my face and that they contain as many natural ingredients as possible. You can also create beautiful and expressive looks with natural cosmetics like those from Lavera!
F: You are the current Lavera testimonial. What do you particularly like about the natural cosmetics brand?
Rebecca Mir: Especially with the lipsticks, as they not only conjure up a super expression, but are also very nourishing for the lips thanks to the home-made organic blossom butter.
F: What is your favorite Lavera product to use and why?
Rebecca Mir: Besides the lipstick, the products for the big brows look are my favorites. It’s really trendy at the moment and I love the look.
F: What do you look for when you buy beauty products yourself, and how do you cut through the ingredient clutter?
Rebecca Mir: You should definitely make sure that it is certified natural cosmetics. Beautiful packaging is of course great, but it says nothing about the effect. You should also think about this in any case.
F: What would you want to change about the fashion industry?
Rebecca Mir: The fashion industry is making good progress towards more diversity. No matter what skin color, size or shape – the fashion industry should represent all facets.
F: What story are you dying to tell us?
Rebecca Mir: A classic fail, but it only happened to me once: I normally always wear skin-colored underwear for fashion shows, and when I was supposed to wear a white dress, I forgot it. Thank goodness the girls from Styling Backstage always have skin-colored underwear to hand.
Rebecca Mir: “The fashion industry should represent all facets.”
F: Which preconception about models is true and which is not true at all?
Rebecca Mir: The prejudice that models pay a lot of attention to their appearance is definitely true – after all, that’s their asset. What I don’t think is true is that models don’t eat. Of course there are many who do a lot of sport – I do that too. But it’s also fun, especially in cool sports looks. But you definitely can’t make a blanket statement: “Models don’t eat anything!”.
F: How do you get rid of stage fright?
Rebecca Mir: I’ve never really had stage fright, but I also get less nervous with experience. I always try to prepare myself well and speak well to myself. After all, no master has ever fallen from the sky, and mistakes are human.
F: What’s the favorite compliment you’ve received so far?
Rebecca Mir: The best compliments are usually not about the outside, but always about the inside.
F: What is your favorite place in the world?
Rebecca Mir: At home! I also love being out in the sun, but I prefer to be at home.
F: How do you live sustainability?
Rebecca Mir: For example, I try to pay attention to what and how I buy in my everyday life. For example, avoiding plastic and buying glass bottles instead, saving energy and using certified natural cosmetics. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference.
F: Which Insta account that you follow are you ashamed of?
Rebecca Mir: Shame is perhaps too much to say. Of course, I follow a lot of fashion magazines and designers, but I also read the odd gossip magazine for entertainment in between.
F: What are you addicted to?
Rebecca Mir: Chocolate!
F: What are you fighting for?
Rebecca Mir: The most important thing for me is that my family and the people around me are doing well. I would give anything for that at any time.
F: What do you think about too much, and what should you think about more?
Rebecca Mir: Before I go shopping, I often think about what I could cook. I always try to get new ideas and inspiration. What should I be more concerned about? With sustainability, you can never stop learning and always improve a little more.
F: What do you cook for guests and which dish do you cook for yourself?
Rebecca Mir: When guests come, we always serve several courses. A portion of spaghetti bolognese is enough for me alone.
F: What adventure do you dream of?
Rebecca Mir: From a trip around the world! With Amazon and all the trimmings.
F: How old would you be if you didn’t know your age? And what gets better the older you get?
Rebecca Mir: Probably a bit older actually, because my friends have always been a bit older than me. As you get older, you definitely become more relaxed and take many things less seriously.
F: What do you treat yourself to?
Rebecca Mir: An extensive beauty routine and #MeTime.
