The Hype: Beauty trends of the month

We save up for a special kind of colored pencil box, struggle with decisions and get fragrance inspiration from Australia’s cutest animal: here are our beauty trends of the month.

Decisions

Decisions are difficult. Yet everything we do and where we are at the moment is based on them. The seemingly trivial decisions of our past selves have caused us friendships, love or even grief. Before our heads explode and we enrol in a philosophy course, let’s get to the point: if you can’t decide on a lip liner or haven’t found the right color yet, just pick two different ones.

New Collection

In Bloom

The faster the number on the thermometer rises, the stronger the desire for a new spring wardrobe. If your wardrobe is already bursting at the seams, you can move the spring upgrade to the bathroom: out with the old make-up and in with fresh colors. Chanel’s spring-summer collection leaves nothing to be desired. Eye shadow, lip balm and nail polish in strong colors and textures from matt to shimmering ensure that we can try out a new look every day.

New Perfume

Koala’s Favorite

Koalas feed on nothing else, are even picky about it, sleep on it – up to 20 hours a day – but we would rather smell it: We’re talking about eucalyptus. The latest fragrance in Le Labo’s Classic Collection, “Eucalyptus 20”, is a tribute to the robust tree. Cedarwood, musk and incense complement the fresh fragrance, which transports us directly to the vastness of an endless sandy landscape.

Darling

Colored pencil box

If you loved drawing as a child, you probably regularly had one of these huge, multi-storey boxes of colored pencils on your wish list. You had to do a lot of convincing to get this expensive wish: Yes, 100 different colors are necessary to discover your own artistic potential. Now the colored pencil box dream has come back to haunt us. This time, however, we don’t need to wish for paper, because our face serves as the canvas. The colorful pencils for lips and eyes from Hermès can be put together in boxes of four or twelve. As with the colored pencils, creativity knows neither boundaries nor rules.

Hair Trend

Clear the stage

In order for our precisely applied make-up, which we have brushed onto the face with the help of countless tutorials, to come into its own, the hair only has to play a supporting role for a while. Everything is fixed at the back with plenty of gel. The slicked-back look is sure to attract almost as many looks as the elaborate make-up.

Unfuck the World

Eye Eye Eye

The many skincare trends that flood TikTok and co. have one thing in common, apart from the entertainment factor and the odd helpful tip: they are driving up plastic consumption. Much of what comes with a tempting pink and cute aesthetic is unfortunately also a disposable product and therefore not much more than avoidable waste. Do we really need brightly patterned eye patches that end up in the bin after a few minutes of application? We may look a little more awake afterwards, but the mountain of waste that accumulates thanks to daily use really shakes us up. The Swiss skincare brand Iräye is making sure that this mountain grows a little more slowly. Their reusable eye patches can be used up to 50 times before they are worn out.
