Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026/27 showed the self-confident energy for which the city is known. Milan rarely seeks quiet restraint. Its strength lies in precision. It quickly became clear from the best looks of the week: it was hardly about adhering to fixed ideas of what fashion should be. Nevertheless, craftsmanship and sensuality remain the unshakeable foundation of Italian fashion.

Tailoring has formed the backbone of many outstanding looks. At Tod’s, everyday Italian elegance was refined with flawless leather and structured silhouettes. Max Mara reaffirmed its authority in outerwear, while Emporio Armani’s relaxed suits once again showed the enduring power of soft Italian tailoring.

Sensuality appeared – unsurprisingly – exactly where you would expect it. Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana played with provocative minimalism and body-hugging silhouettes, while Ferrari showed clothes that move like a second skin. Roberto Cavalli heightened the drama with sheer fabrics and flowing silhouettes, proving that Italy’s sense of seduction and glamor is undiminished.

A sense of youthful energy ran through the week, but never in a shy or naïve way. Designers experimented with innocence but with confidence: playful silhouettes, prints and colors appeared in collections from Moschino to N°21, Onitsuka Tiger and – somewhat surprisingly – Ermanno Scervino. Even when the look seemed more girly, there was always a sense of confidence. Italian fashion understands this balance – youth not as fragility, but as self-assurance. In Milan, sweetness always comes with attitude.

Elsewhere, designers focused on texture and visual opulence. Etro’s multi-layered prints and fur coats brought a bohemian splendor to the catwalk. Prada, on the other hand, remained true to its intellectual approach to femininity, balancing delicate elements with deliberately controlled silhouettes.

Taken together, the season’s strongest looks confirmed Milan’s greatest strength: clothes that are not only designed to impress, but to last. Fall/Winter 2026/27 did not chase after spectacle. Instead, the codes that define Italian fashion were refined: Elegance, sensuality and craftsmanship, implemented with self-evident confidence.
