The Palais Brongniart served as the backdrop for the presentation of Hermès Menswear Fall/Winter 2026/27. The historic setting in the heart of Paris lent the event a quiet intensity. Not only did it mark the unveiling of a new collection from the Maison, but also the final chapter of Véronique Nichanian’s tenure. For 37 years, she shaped the Hermès brand as Artistic Director. What would her farewell look like?
Madame Nichanian takes a look back without sinking into nostalgia. At the end of a long journey, the designer draws on the memories of her more than three decades of work. Nevertheless, the collection does not look backwards, but is firmly anchored in the present. Véronique Nichanian has gently woven in her references so that the collection can progress seamlessly in the Hermès codes.
The Hermès Menswear Fall/Winter 2026/27 Collection
This season’s colors are characterized by depth. Peat, burnt gray, coffee, taupe and midnight blue make up the palette. Colors that appear grounded and familiar, as if they were part of the clothes by nature and not just applied to them. Together they form a nuanced base for the collection, consistent and calming, allowing the rest of the craft to unfold.

The darker color palette is deliberately interrupted. Khaki, orange, shades reminiscent of sunsets, chalk or quartz are used as important accents and serve as visual eye-catchers. The effect is strategic: color is used as punctuation to break the heaviness without lightening the mood.

Fabrics want to be felt, not just seen. Leather characterizes the Hermès language – treated and processed lambskin, crocodile leather, butter-soft deerskin. Lambskin adds warmth and substance to outerwear and linings.

Lighter materials allow the collection to breathe. Wool, cashmere and their blends soften the knitwear, while silk blends move across shirts and layers, lifting the heaviness and restoring balance.

Knitwear emphasizes density and texture. The garments are tightly woven and the surface is interestingly designed with elaborate prints, patches and subtle leather details.

Outerwear moves across different lengths, while the proportions remain focused and do not appear oversized. Overcoats take center stage, characterized by tailoring and material contrasts – from smooth calfskin leather to Herringbone wool in a classic Chesterfield silhouette. Shearling runs through coats, blousons and parkas.

Pants come in different lengths, flowing throughout but never baggy. The waists sit higher and pleats are used to create volume. In addition, cigarette tailoring sharpens the line and keeps the overall look precise and clear.

Details
The Hermès Menswear Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection is rich in thoughtful details and continues the visual language that Véronique Nichanian has developed for the house over the years. It’s impossible to go into every single one, but here are some of the standout details.
Generous leather pocket details are deliberately contrasted with wool and technical fabrics. It’s more about material tension than function.

shoes have a subtle special feature: The orange accent on the soles is a subtle reference to the traditional Hermès color.

A standout piece in the collection, inspired by the Fall/Winter 2000 archive, is the reversible “Quick” blouson in black and natural rubberized lambskin. The versatile design subtly references the iconic Hermès H-reversible belt – a statement that combines function and heritage.

The Hermès Menswear Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection is like a silent pause – thoughtful, confident and well thought out. Once again, it draws inspiration from the last three decades and is an invitation to continuity. It is the moment to take a deep breath before the house opens a new chapter. A serene farewell and a clear handover, while menswear prepares for its next chapter under successor Grace Bonner.
