“Anybody that’s going on a road trip and doesn’t really want to get into a myriad of snacks is probably no one you want to get in the car with.”

Knipser – Nikon Z fc
Memories are first and foremost in the mind. But after lockdown number two and isolation number five, we now know that Netflix is not enough to kill time. And that we enjoy physical memories that don’t just pop from screen to screen. That’s why we’re now celebrating traveling all the more and taking photos with our new Nikon Z fc, a piece of kit that makes us as happy as children with lollipops every time we pull it out of its case. Inspired by the iconic Nikon SLR camera, the younger sister also comes in a retro style with a leather-textured coating. The functions of the dials are easy to learn, and thanks to its light weight, the Nikon Z fc is always with you wherever you go. Nikon’s latest darling masters low light and darkness with flying colors, and selfies are child’s play thanks to the rotatable and tiltable monitor. In addition, various options and effects provide for individual shots, which we later happily stick into the album. Nikon, “Nikon Z fc”, approx. 999.-

Bye bye bucket list. A survey conducted by Airbnb at the end of 2021 shows that around half of respondents don’t really care where they travel to. More importantly, they are together with people who are important to them. Kind of cute.
L’atelier – Hôtel des Académies et des Arts
Giacometti, Eileen Gray and Serge Gainsbourg honed their craft here, in this building on the rue de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, which today houses the Hôtel des Académies et des Arts. This may not mean anything to some, but it does to those who could spend hours strolling through the Louvre, forgetting the time in galleries and spotting the one treasure among the junk at the Saint-Ouen or Porte de Clignancourt flea markets that might pay for the whole trip. Back to the hotel: the interior really does look like a French artist’s studio, with so many paintings, books and busts that you can’t help but reach out in awe. There are 20 rooms to choose from, from the Classic Room to the Family Room, each a gem, individually decorated with art and objects that pay tribute to great artists. Frescoes adorn the ceilings and cream-colored wallpaper the walls, where iron nails and shelves await the next works of art. Hôtel des Académies et des Arts , 15 rue de la Grande Chaumière, 75006 Paris, France, rooms from approx. 180, breakfast for 19,
Pause for thought – Book “Kinfolk Travel”
Fuck mass tourism and insta-spots! We want to experience real places, pure nature, living cities and things that don’t yet have their own hashtags. A book that we are therefore only too happy to look at: “Kinfolk Travel”, a work like a postcard from afar, which we put on the shelf with at least as much joy and awe. The book covers 30 destinations around the world, with tips from locals and photographs that make our fingers itch. More than a travel guide, “Kinfolk Travel” is a reminder not to see travel as a to-do list, but as a slow, deliberate and mindful approach to a foreign culture and a distant land. Beatrice le Coutre-Bick & Alexander Bick, “Kinfolk Travel”, Knesebeck, ca. 40.-
