We have found it, the ideal weekend home. It is located in Valle de Bravo in Mexico and can hardly be distinguished from the surrounding forest at first glance. Respect for nature was the top priority for this project. Trees stand like protective sentinels in front of the open, modern building and thus serve as a reminder to always adapt to nature instead of the other way around.
It’s a vicious circle: we want to retreat into nature because it’s good for us, and in doing so we bring with us the noise, construction work and waste that we actually want to escape from. Fortunately, there are architects who know how to merge a building with its surroundings. Not a single tree was felled for the Copas in Valle de Bravo in Mexico. Trees play the main role here anyway: on the lower floor, they provide protection and privacy for the bedrooms, while the upper floor opens directly onto the treetops. A large rock was excavated during the digging of the foundations. This now sits as a statement piece in the entrance terrace.
