If you can’t get rid of the dream of having your own tree house even in adulthood, you should travel to Brazil as soon as possible. Casa Açucena, a luxury tree house, is located in the thicket of the jungle. Thanks to lots of glass and a floor plan that hugs the whims of nature, you feel like you’re floating in the middle of the wilderness.
The problem with modern buildings? Far too often, nature is bulldozed in order to indulge the building boom. Not so with Casa Açucena: not a single tree had to give way when the tree house deluxe was built in the middle of the Brazilian jungle. The steep topography typical of the Nova Lima region is not an enemy here, but a creative stimulus. The house should adapt to the circumstances, not the other way around. From a bird’s eye view, you can barely see Casa Açucena, despite its white paint, because it blends in so well with the rainforest. The black poles line up next to the tree trunks as if they had always been there. As the house is elevated, it does not disturb animals or plants on the ground.
