FACES: How do you like the styling of the new Toyota Yaris Cross?
Andrea Monica Hug: I immediately liked the look of the Toyota Yaris Cross model: I find the “face” of the car particularly appealing and modern, because despite its size and lots of space in the interior, the car looks dynamic and light. I really like the color Oxyde Bronze – a shade that stands out from the crowd, but doesn’t stand out in a negative way. The panoramic glass roof provided a wonderful incidence of light on my trip into the forest.
F: Has the Toyota Yaris Cross triggered positive reactions in your environment?
AMH: You can easily take a few friends with you in the Toyota Yaris Cross – the interior is spacious, there’s enough room in the trunk for several suitcases or shopping, and the fact that you can open the trunk lid with just one foot under the car was astonishing. The same applies to the Smart Touch opening of the door, while you can leave the key in your handbag. Totally futuristic and practical!
F: What are your expectations of a car and how does the Toyota Yaris Cross fulfill them?
AMH: My dream car has to be suitable for Zurich city as well as being able to go for a walk in the woods in bad weather. This was easily possible thanks to the combination of hybrid and intelligent all-wheel drive in the Yaris Cross. Of course, for me a car also has to fulfill aesthetic aspects, which was absolutely the case with the Toyota. Comfortable and sporty seats, a simple, functional cockpit and a beautiful paintwork – this car met all my expectations.
F: Which feature on the Toyota Yaris Cross impresses you the most (out of the many possibilities of Toyota Smart Connect)?
AMH : On the road, of course, the real-time traffic information and map updates were of great benefit to me. I also thought it was cool to be able to lock and unlock the vehicle remotely or to regulate the interior climate before getting in.
F: What do you like about driving a hybrid?
AMH: The lightness! The hybrid drive offers a greater range than purely electric drives and a more lively start. The battery is charged by the kinetic energy generated when braking and slowing down. That’s why I felt I was in good hands as far as range and consumption were concerned.
F: What was the first positive thing you noticed about the Toyota Yaris Cross?
AMH: Shape and color! As a photographer, I am a visual person and work a lot with imagery. As far as the driving experience is concerned, it was just so much fun to see how light and sporty the large vehicle feels on the road.
