With these 12 program ideas, the wedding really will be the best day of the bride and groom’s lives

To ensure that the wedding really is the most beautiful day in the life of the bride and groom and that the guests always have fond memories of the celebration, it is important that the celebration is appealing, unique and, above all, unforgettable.

Of course, every bridal couple has different ideas about the perfect program, but there are a few program points that are particularly suitable for:

  • keep the guests happy
  • to create unforgettable moments
  • Creating material for memories
  • create great situations for photos and videos

For the bride and groom, it is essential to start planning the wedding ceremony and program in good time to ensure that everything is ready for the best day of their lives and that the program runs smoothly and without any problems.

The classic: the guestbook

Something that should definitely not be missing at a wedding is the wedding guest book, in which guests can write their wishes for the bride and groom. It should be placed where all guests can see it, so that every guest can go to the guest book when they feel like it and write their wish there.

Ideally, the guest book should be available for the guests in one place from the beginning to the end of the wedding celebration, so that there is enough time for all those who want to immortalize themselves in the guest book.

Speeches for the bride and groom

Another thing that should not be neglected on the program is the speeches, which are usually given by the parents of the bride and groom or by close friends and family members.

The speeches can do that:

  • Emotional
  • Humorous
  • Long
  • Short

and be a real highlight not only for the bride and groom, but also for the guests. For this reason, these speeches should be given sufficient time on the program.

Photo and/or video shows

In addition to speeches, photo shows and videos are also very popular. These are often photos or videos of the bride and groom. For this reason, it is important to view the videos and photos beforehand or to establish certain guidelines.

Perhaps the bride and groom do not want to see photos of certain situations, which must be respected in any case.

Entertaining the guests

When it comes to entertaining the guests, the bride and groom have many different options to choose from, which they can incorporate into the program.

It is important that the guests feel completely at ease at the wedding in order to create the good atmosphere and the unique feeling that makes the wedding so unforgettable that it will be remembered fondly and for a long time to come.

A little wine tasting

To entertain the guests (only the adults, of course), a small wine tasting with sustainable wine can be organized. Children could taste juices.

Alternatively, chocolate or other food or drinks can also be used. The food and drink can be tasted so that stomachs are opened before eating and the food tastes twice as good.

Gimmicks for the guests

To keep the guests entertained between individual program points, such as the meal or the wedding cake, the bridal couple can prepare a gimmick bag and put a few gimmicks and instructions in it. The instructions tell guests which gimmicks to use at what time.

Of course, the bride and groom have free rein in this regard, but gimmicks that are particularly popular with guests include the following:

  • Bubbles that are blown at the end of the mourning before moving on to the celebration.
  • Confetti cannons that can be launched when the bride and groom leave the church or outside after the “I do”.
  • Glow sticks for the guests when it gets dark at the party and the first dance (usually the father-daughter dance) takes place.
  • Lighters for the bride and groom’s romantic dance.

These little gimmicks are fun for the guests and enrich the wedding program. Who doesn’t like getting little gimmicks in a pretty bag?

The guest bingo

Not all guests at a wedding party always know each other. For this reason, it is important to make it easy, relaxed and above all fun for guests to get to know each other. Among other things, guest bingo is very popular in this regard.

Each wedding guest receives a bingo card and must then find the guests who fulfill the characteristics on the wedding bingo. In this way, the guests inevitably get to know each other as they get into conversation.

The wedding quiz

Another program item, or Another game that helps the guests to get to know each other better and talk to each other is wedding bingo.

For the wedding bingo, the guests form different teams and then have to answer questions about the bride and groom. It is important that the teams are mixed and do not pit close relatives against friends or acquaintances who may not know the bride and groom very well.

Games for the bridal couple

Another program item that is very popular at weddings is the games for the bride and groom. The bride and groom play various games in which the guests watch, but often also join in, cheer on the bride and groom and have fun.

The best man and maid of honour often organize the games, but they should always clarify in advance with the bride and groom what games are okay and what games the bride and groom prefer not to play.

Flower girl and ring bearer

Flower girls are also very popular at weddings and scatter flowers before the bride arrives. When it comes to exchanging rings, it’s a real eye-catcher when the family dog or a rented alpaca brings the rings – who can claim to have been given the rings by an alpaca?

Karaoke and live music

Many bridal couples opt for a DJ to provide the musical entertainment at their wedding. But live music is also very popular with the guests and of course with the bride and groom.

To add a little more zest to the whole thing, a small karaoke round can also take place, to which the other guests then have to do the balloon dance. The last couple to drop the balloon is the winner.

Magical program items

How about a magician at the wedding? Or with a fortune teller who lays cards for the guests? Perhaps the bride and groom would also like a magical dance performance by an aerial artist, who floats through the air on a cloth or in a hoop and performs impressive acrobatics.

Fire shows are also very popular at wedding celebrations, as they not only get the party going, but are also a great way to pass the time between the meal and the opening of the dance floor.

Caricaturist

Of course, the guests take photos at the wedding and a photographer makes sure to take one or two snapshots of the guests. One thing that guests can take home with them as a souvenir, however, is a caricature of themselves.

A caricaturist creates a caricature of the guests and thus ensures a special kind of memory. Of course, a caricature of the bride and groom is also a must.

Midnight snack as a little refreshment

Although there is usually a lot of eating at a wedding, after all the dancing and games, the bride and groom and their guests may well start to feel a little peckish around midnight. For these purposes, it is a good idea to include a midnight snack on the program list and provide a selection of tasty snacks for the small appetite.

With these tips for the wedding program, the bride and groom can ensure that the celebration is even more unique, fun and interesting. This will not only make the wedding an unforgettable experience for the bride and groom, but the guests will also always have fond memories of this beautiful day.
