While we’ve been cooped up at home, baking bread and learning yoga, Yvonne Reichmuth has been drawing inspiration from the past in her Zurich studio during the lockdown. The result: the CORE capsule collection.
Yvonne Reichmuth, the last one standing. The designer must have felt something like this during the coronavirus-related lockdown when she was sitting alone in her studio in Zurich. Pause, pause, reflect. Reichmuth has used the time to reflect on the beginnings of her label YVY, for which she has been designing leather accessories and clothing for seven years. She has avoided seasonal collections from the very beginning, as her harnesses, belts and bracelets are pieces for eternity. Yvonne Reichmuth was inspired by her own designs from the YVY archive and breathed new life into shapes, techniques and materials from earlier collections. The result is the CORE Capsule Collection, which reinterprets classics such as the popular Wrap Harness or the iconic Moon Belt. The highlight: the mix of silver and gold-colored hardware, which now complements YVY’s typical color palette of black, white and sand. Each of these key pieces is made by hand from the finest Italian leather in the YVY atelier in Zurich.
Every week, Yvonne Reichmuth unveils a new piece from the CORE capsule collection on YVY’s Insta account, showing not only the creation process but also different ways of styling the key piece. All pieces are now available in the YVY online store and in the YVY studio in Zurich.
