VIU Style Guide: Which glasses suit whom?

Visual impairment? No reason to be sad. We see it as an opportunity to put one of VIU’s cool models on our noses. But which shape and which model is the right one?

Round or cat-eye, transparent or colored? Yes, deciding on a model of glasses is no easy task. Fortunately, VIU has such a large selection that there is a suitable pair of glasses on the shelf for every type and every face shape. VIU co-founder and designer Fabrice Aeberhard has clear words when it comes to choosing: “Generalizations are difficult, personality and personal style are more important.” This is one reason why VIU is currently working with four influencers whose styles couldn’t be more different.

There’s blonde Lotta, who prefers it inconspicuous, Felipe, who wants to polarize with unconventional models, or Gloria, who likes avant-garde glasses best. Rebel Anton feels most comfortable with titanium glasses in an angular shape. However, there are a few pointers to avoid getting lost among the numerous possibilities, as Fabrice Aeberhard knows:

“Round frames and panto shapes tend to suit a square face .”

“People with heart-shaped faces are best flattered by rounded corner shapes, but oversized statement styles also look really good with them.”

” Oval face shapes can be angular, and the rounder the face, the better angular shapes fit.”

“The easiest to use are people with trapezoidal faces: they can wear anything!”

What other tips does the professional know?

“The glasses must harmonize with the face (the shape, the eyebrows, the contour) . They shouldn’t be too big or too small, the eyes should be centered in the lens and the glasses shouldn’t sit on the cheekbones.”

“The color of the frame and lenses should harmonize with the face tone and complexion. An unflattering color makes you pale.”

“The fit is extremely important. Nothing should pinch so that the glasses are comfortable to wear in the long term.”

Well then, with these tips, everyone is guaranteed to find the right model of prescription glasses or sunglasses. With VIU

you can order the parts to your home free of charge before deciding on a model.
